A New and Inspiring Writer

This is a poem that was written by my daughter, Sarah, and we are thrilled to share this piece with fellow hubbers.  She is just turning 14 and has been reading various hubs on this site.  She has always been interested in reading and she began writing at the age of 6.  She has entered several writing contests and won her first in Grade 4.  She is very encouraged and excited about writing and sharing her original works here on Hubpages.

Congratulations, Sarah, on finding the strength and confidence to share your creative work with others!!!

Remnants

Skies set ablaze, with cries from the men

The battle has started, and never will end!

We fight as we cry, for it is our brothers that die

Muddy, wet and tired, waiting for that letter desired

From mom or dad from sister or brother, happiness is brought with that thin piece of paper

Written are words of encouragement or loss and despair, from their new wives with good news to share.

None the less, they fought and they died, for the peace of the countries, for the good and the bad.

The reason we respect them cannot be put in few words, but to question the respect they deserve is to question your very existence.

Look around; be thankful, they all died for you.
