Your diet might be the culprit in this situation. It makes good sense to add fresh fruits and vegetables to your daily intake of food (organic is best). These raw foods have plenty of nutrition and water content as well as fiber for more thorough cleansing of the intestines. Some can even stop constipation permanently by changing diet alone - without the need for nutritional or pharmaceutical products.
And you don't just need to focus on prune juice to get some action going. There are plenty of other options and you might even find some that are more pleasing than salty, fatty, unhealthy snacks like chips and candies.
For instance, grapes provide great roughage for your digestive system. The skins work well and taste fantastic. If you have a sweet tooth then grapes make the perfect snack. Try freezing them and eating as late night snacks. Apples are another way to help remove constipation from your life. For best effect, core the apple and sprinkle some brown sugar on the fruit. Put the whole cored apple in the over and bake at about 350 degrees for 20 minutes or so. Yeah, apples raw or baked are great all-around nutrition in a pretty package.
