How to Safely Remove Warts from Your Face
Let's be real for a second. As far as skin conditions go, there are very few things that can be as embarressing as a wart. And as far as warts go, the absolute worst place you would want for one to appear would be the face. Face warts are never much of a conversation piece and if they are, I can assure you that it would be a conversation that you were excluded from. In this hub, I article, I intend to discuss various ways to safely remove warts from your face.
Understanding how warts come to be is the first step to knowing how to remove them. They are viruses that can be passed from person to person. Warts can also be spread via towels or other things that a person infected with warts uses. Warts also tend to have a life of their own. One person infected may see one outbreak that lasts for a couple months while another person may live with their warts for years. You just never can tell.
Barring a doctor's visit, there is no product that will quickly eradicate a wart in hours. IF you come across a page that promises such a thing, run the other way. They are just trying to take your money.
This said, there are a few ways that you can remove warts safely from your face and surrounding areas. I will go over 3 here.....
- Salicylic Acid is one of the most commonly used acids when it comes to wart removal. It is more commonly known as compound W. The good news is that compound W is one of the safest ways to treat warts. The bad news is that this could take a couple weeks for your face warts to clear up. For the absolute best results, I recommend you using this topical solution right after you have taken a shower or bath. By doing this, you skin will have softened up making the acid able to penetrate the wart better.
- Liquid Nitrogen is another wart removal technique that is popular. Unfortunately, this is usually administered by a doctor. The usual treatment time varies but usually it takes roughly 3 weeks for it to be completely eradicated.
- The final wart treatment is a little home remedy that many people claim works. Now, I haven't tried it and it sounds like an old wive's tale but since so many people claim it, it is worth a mention. Some believe that duct tape remove warts. The reasoning is valid though. Basically, if you cover the wart with duct tape, the wart as well as the surrounding area will get irritated causing your bodies natural immune system to attack it.

The Problem with Face Warts
The biggest problem with face warts is that there is an image that most people get when they think of them. Remember the witch in the Wizard of Oz with the big, ugly wart on the end of her nose? Yeah, that is the visual that most people get when they think of face warts.
Are face warts different than the warts you get on your hands and feet?
Yes, typically the warts you get on your feet are called plantar warts. The warts you get on your hands are common warts. Finally, the warts on your face are also called flat warts. Flat warts tend to grow in clusters and are flat and pink and color.
Flat warts are also called juvenile warts, plane juvenile warts, Periungual warts, Subungual warts, Verruca, Verrucae planae juveniles, Filiform warts, and Verruca vulgaris.
The good news about this type of wart is that many people can pass it off as a mole or skin tag.
