Remove Warts
72If already know all about warts and you don't have time to read this entire page and simply want to know the best way to permanently remove warts (without any harsh medical procedures or painful over-the-counter products) then I recommend you read this guide.
What Are Warts?
Warts are small, benign (harmless) growths caused by a viral infection. They occur on the skin or the mucous membrane. The mucous membrane is the tissue that lines the nose, throat, digestive tract, and other body openings. The viruses that cause warts are members of the human papilloma virus (HPV) family. Warts can be transmitted from one person to another and they can travel from one part of the body to another.
Common Types Of Warts
Hand Warts (Common Warts)
Common hand warts grow around the nails, on the fingers, and on the backs of hands. They appear most often where the skin is broken.
Foot Warts (Plantar Warts)
Foot warts are also called plantar warts. Plantar warts usually occur on the ball of the foot, the heel and the bottom of the toes. The skin in these areas is subject to weight, pressure, and irritation and has a tendency to crack or break open, providing an opening for the virus. Foot warts usually do not stick up above the skin. People of all age groups can get plantar warts. But they are most common among adolescents between the ages of twelve and sixteen. The virus can be picked up in locker rooms, swimming pools, or by walking barefooted on dirty surfaces. People with diabetes mellitus (see diabetes mellitus entry) are very likely to develop plantar warts. The warts develop in areas where sores did not heal properly.
Flat Warts
Flat warts are smaller and smoother than other kinds of warts and tend to grow in large numbers. Although they can appear anywhere on the body, flat warts appear most often on the legs of women and the faces of children and young adult males.
Genital Warts
Genital warts are a type of sexually transmitted disease (STD). A sexually transmitted disease (see sexually transmitted diseases entry) is a condition that is passed from one person to another during sexual activity. The forms of HPV that cause genital warts are very contagious. A person who has sexual contact with someone
How To Remove Warts?
Over The Counter Treatments
Many over-the-counter wart treatments are available that remove hand and foot warts. These products are usually in the form of lotions, ointments or plasters. They work by removing the skin affected by a wart virus. After treatment, the skin and wart simply drop off. These products must be used with care, however. The chemicals they contain are quite strong and can affect healthy skin as well as infected skin. People with diabetes or heart conditions should not use these products.
Non-prescription drugs are also available for the treatment of flat warts. These products cause the skin to become saturated with water. Over time, the skin layer peels off, taking the wart virus with it. Flat wart remedies can take as long as three months to work, depending on the size and depth of the wart.
If you need to remove your wart quickly there is a safe technique to remove your warts in as little as 3 days.
Moist patches are also another way to get rid of warts. They are placed on a wart for forty-eight hours. Then they are replaced with a new patch. In some cases, the patch may irritate the skin. In that case, the person should switch to a milder medication or stop treatment for a while.
Professional Treatment
One method involves the use of chemicals stronger than those found in non-prescription drugs. The use of these chemicals is often effective, but they may produce some burning and discomfort for a few days.
A second method of wart removal is cryosurgery (pronounced KRY-oh-SUR-juh-ree). Cryosurgery is the process by which tissue is frozen with liquid nitrogen, which has a temperature of about 330° F (200° C). This process freezes the tissue very quickly and the frozen tissue can then simply be removed.
Another method of wart removal is electrocautery in which an electric needle is used to burn the wart. The tissue around the wart is killed and can be peeled off, taking the wart with it. Laser surgery works in a similar way. A laser beam is aimed at the wart and the heat of the laser kills the skin around the wart, and the skin and wart simply fall off.
Side Note
Some warts very resistant to over the counter treatments and even professional treatment. If you have a suborn wart and traditional treatments have not worked (or simply do not want to pay the big money for them) I highly recommend the wart removal technique in this guide.
Alternative Treatments
A number of alternative approaches have been recommended for the treatment of warts. The suggestions listed should not be used for genital warts, which should be treated by a doctor.
For the treatment of common or plantar warts you can try the following:
- Apply a paste made of vitamin C powder to the wart for one to two weeks.
- Place a crushed or sliced clove of garlic over the wart for seven consecutive nights while sleeping.
- Soak the wart in water. Then make scratches in the wart with a sterile needle. Apply drops of thuja dissolved in alcohol to the wart. Repeat several times a day for one to two weeks.
- Tape a piece of banana peel on the wart over night, with the inner side of the peel touching the skin. Repeat nightly for one to two weeks.
- Use duct tape to "suffocate" the wart
Strengthening one's immune system is an objective of some forms of alternative treatment. A stronger immune system may be able to fight off the viruses that cause warts. A well-balanced diet rich in vitamins A, C, and E may help strengthen the immune system. Avoiding stress is thought to be another way of strengthening the immune system.
My Recommendation
There are many traditional and non traditional ways to get rid of warts. Based on my research and the results people are getting the best way to permanently remove warts (including planter warts) without any harsh medical procedures or painful over-the-counter products is to follow the steps outlined in this guide.

This truly works. I had over 10 warts all over my feet. It definitely wasn’t a pleasant site and I had great difficulty walking at times too. I tried all kinds of treatments from over the counter plasters, banana peels, burning and laser treatments. But they just kept coming back and even expanding. Finally a friend of mine recommended that I try HOMEOPATHY and it was MAGIC. It is totally non-invasive and painless. Although it is a time consuming treatment it is the most effective. If you have any questions you can email me at rakattack23@hotmail.com or call my homeopathy doctor on +91 9890740666. Trust me you won’t regret it!!
These treatments did not work for me they really SUCKED. I tried every single of the alternative treatments but they didn't work and now I have to pay a dermatologist to remove my warts. NEXT TIME FIND BETTER TREATMENTS.
This is what my warts look like now. There was only one before I started treating them myself

Another easy wart removal method is to tape a cotton bud with apple cider vingear to the affected area every night before sleeping, remove in the morning and cleanse with soap and water. Repeat until warts are removed. Results in as little as three days, warts should be gone within two weeks
the alternative treatment is a load of crap. "placing a banana peel on the wart over night" thats bullshit.
bitting the dam thing off then rinse your mouth with mouthwash and spit it on the wart site will work better than a dam banana peel.
bbbbbbbbbbb mmmmmmmmmmm
the duct tape one does work. The wart needs air to thrive, if you deprive it of air then it will kill the wart.
Back in 1992 when I was a kid I had a big fat seedy wart on my foot. My granny told me to cover it with banana peel which I left it on all day and night, only removing to add fresh banana peel.
After about 2 weeks the wart literally "fell out" of my foot leaving a circular crater. After a few days the crater vanished and I've never had a wart since.
i tried dr.scholls freeze away warts and it didnt work for me. i also tried duct tape on it and it didnt work.WARTS SUCK!
i have warts on both of my hands and i want them to go away
I have one wart on my chin, one on my cheek and one is growing right by my eye. I also have one on my arm. I hate the one's on my face! I have a dermetologist appointment on august 29th but mean while I can't look at anyone in the eyes because I'm so ashamed of my warts. HEEEELP!
A combination of duct tape and elastoplast sometimes works. Cut the duct tape to cover the wart area and surrounds and hold in place with elastoplast. Leave on for a couple of days. This suffocates them.
I had a wart on my hand. I cut it off with a sterile pair of toenail clippers and doused the site with hydrogen peroxide. It bled for a few minutes, but went away.
can wart removal technique be advisable on my wart located on my forehead
i had 4 surgery to remove one now i have 3 i hope dis works

I am having surgery to remove my wart in a few weeks

How do you know when a wart is gone? I'm using duct tape and it pulls skin off and leaves a crater, but no sign of balck roots...thanks.
I have had warts since I was in 6th grade and i'm a sophomore in college now i have had surgery 2 frozen 3 or 4 times and tried the duct tape none have worked but the number of warts has decreased majorly i went from 30ish to about 5ish so i guess thats better.
One quick question.. i have one UNDERNEATH my fingernail... is it supposed to hurt like HELL? Cuz it does! All freaking day long.. i'm going out to buy duct tape as we speak! thnx for the info.
I had one on my finger and cuted it off with a nail clipper aswell i took off the ball of flesh that came with it,(Watch out its painful). Right after ive put some 27% Salicylic Acid in the hole (That hurts so bad also lol). Im gonna post back to tell you if it worked.
I developed a wart on my thumb which I have tried freezing many times both in a doctors office and at home with liquid nitrogen, to no success. I have also tried Sailacidic (sp?) acid with limited success, and wanted to try suffocating the wart with tape, but could never get it to stay on. I decided to try nail polish on the wart to suffocate it, and yesterday was able to peel away more than half of the wart. I am continuing to treat it with nail polish and will let you know if I manage to totally kill it.;
Have to agree with you on the guide your promoting. It really works!
regards,Jeff
freezing warts off works you just have to freeze it so it burns around the wart then it will scab over and about two weeks later it will fall off but then u have a scar
theres a really annoying wart on my foot I'm going to try the garlic
and duct tape ways
this may sound weird but im trying UHU glue, i gllued all around the bastard and im gonna f******ing sufocate it to death. Please die...
I used the banana peel method on my fingers, toes, hands and it removed the warts within about 2-3 days. It worked for me and from what I read it seems to work for alot of people with a few that it just doens't seem to help. It's inexpensive, healthy and painless. Give it a try first. I rubbed my banana peel onto my fingers and toes agressively until it was almost stinging like and until I was tired of doing it (I didn't time it). I have read that you can put the peel on the area and bind it there but the method I used definitely worked for me. I am not sure about just binding it there. Seems to me rubbing it would put the inside of the peel more into the affected area better thus resulting in quicker results. Just a thought.
few years ago i had one on the inside of my middle finger. I cut it off with a serile blade, lit a ciggy up and burnt the area where i cut it off. I know its a bit of a extreme way to go about things but its never come back again;). Ive got one on my elbow now i cant get to i asked the mrs to do it but she called me a sicko XD so now ive got to find somone to do it for me.
LOL This entire blog is entertaining........
still laughin....
this is great i have many ideas how to kill worts i wonder if it work on the one inside my nose
I have had a wart for a few years now, and recently it started to grow and multiply. Now I have numerous warts in between my index and middle fingers. They spread to the top of my middle finger, inbetween my thumb and index finger, under my finger nails, and on my right hand. I used the banana treatment for a few days and it started to work because my warts turned yellow, bu then I stopped the treatment. Now I am trying duct tape, apple cider vinegar and the bananas again. I can not stand the warts and I am very self-conscious about them. I will give updates to what works for those of you like me who want these things gone.
Dude some of these ideas are very entertaining. I am goin to try the duct tape method. I hope it works! I have had a wart on the side of my nose for like 6 months. Everyone makes fun of me. I have gotten a wart removed by liquid nitrogen and it hurts like hell! im not very good with pain. I hope the duct tape works!
I have awful plantars warts on my feet. I've been using different methods and remedies for years. I am about to go into surgery and the extreme risks have been brought to my attention. I'm a dancer - so there is the possibility that the skin won't heal, etc. My other option right now is to look into laser treatment. At this point I just want them gooooone!!! They are so painful. Any suggestions?
