Remuneration of staff
58The remuneration received by a particular work is very important for
most people. High salaries may make working conditions uncomfortable
and even dangerous. However, many employees do not mind working for
lower salaries in a particular company because the salary is not the
only way to have satisfying work.
Generally, in business it is the distinction between wages and salaries.
AUTHORIZING OFFICERS WAGES PAYMENT TYPE
INTELLECTUAL TYPE OF WORK MANUAL
WEEKLY MONTHLY FREQUENCY OF PAYMENT
FIXED MONTHLY
(no payment of overtime) TYPE OF PAYMENT IS THERE A PLACE FOR OVERTIME PAY
In the same company, different groups of workers who perform
different tasks, have different levels of payment. The accountants, the
lawyers, the IT and other skilled workers generally receive higher
wages, workers in occupations requiring lower skills will earn less.
Differences in pay relate to different jobs. Different for several reasons:
- The level of qualifications (economists) and the required hours of practice (medical);
- The degree of danger or discomfort involved (employees of oil platforms;
- The natural ability required (sportsmen of high competition);
- The location of the company;
- The influence of trade unions.
Salary Systems
The salaries of workers can be calculated in different ways:
Salary commensurate with time
There is a fixed salary, which, generally at the end of each
month, is transferred to the bank account of the employee. Some
salaries are also paid to week, depending on circumstances not of the
quantity of goods produced by the worker. For the company, this system
has the advantage of knowing in every moment, all the costs of personal
selves; the disadvantage that there is no incentive for employees to
work more and better.
Salary will hours
Employees are paid a certain amount per hour for each hour worked.
Is beyond a normal work week working a few more hours, will receive
overtime. The company encourages overtime work when peaks of work,
although more difficult to control costs with staff.
Pay by the piece
Employees are paid according to the parts produced, so your salary
is directly proportional to the income of the employee. It is a similar
situation to the sellers who receive a commission for each sale they
do. Employees are encouraged to work more, because this means a higher
salary. This system seems fair because it rewards the most efficient
workers. However, product quality may be lower and will need more
quality control.
Salary with individual awards or bonuses
In this system the reward includes:
- A fixed part, ie a base salary;
- A variable, which is a function of labor productivity, that is,
who produced beyond the norm, who exceeded certain level of sales, etc..
