Renegade University: Spamming or Value?
54Is Renegade University & Mike Klingler Producing Value Packed Content Or Spammers?
Recently a Mr. Eric Graudins wrote a Hubpage commenting on his displeasure with what he described as “spamming” being done on Hubpages by some members of Renegade University. Mr. Graudins never gave a link to any of the suspect articles so I was not able to view these myself and form my own opinion, whether in agreement or not with Mr. Graudins, so I will just take him on his word that these articles were “overly promotional” in nature.
What Is “Overly Promotional”?
I know from personal experience that the editors of Hubpages will flag and delay publication of any work that is overly promotional. My particular experience of having a hubpage flagged came not from what I wrote or linked to in my hubpage article but from my RSS feed to my blog. I was under the impression that a blog was the place were I could be blatantly overly promotional and go on forever about what ever I was into and have as many links to whatever I wanted. I can, but just not use it as my RSS feed to a hubpage article. With this experience in mind, I find it highly unlikely that these RU students were breaking any hubpage rules.
No Apologies Here - Just Doing Business
I do not apologize for being overly promotional. I have a business to promote. I am a FOR PROFIT business. I want people to go to my links, lead capture pages, etc. And if they like what I am offering I want them to purchase services and products from my affiliate links so I can get the commissions these companies offered me in exchange for promoting their products and services. What I do not want is someone feeling like they were tricked or somehow recruited into my Network Marketing business or when they purchase anything that I am an affiliate with. I want people to fully understand the product/service and to carefully decide that it is something that would benefit their business too. If I sponsor someone into my MLM Company I want them to know everything about the company. I want them to fully understand what it takes to start and grow a business. I also want to be able to offer them the tools and guidance that will ensure their success.
Renegade University has been a huge help to me in bringing my home based business to the internet. I would have never been able to market on the internet if not for what I have learned and continue to learn at RU. So that is one of the subjects that I write about in an effort to inform others in Network Marketing that there is a great place to learn these skills at a very reasonable price.
What Renegade University Really Provides
Mr. Graudins stated that he did go to RU to check out the free area of the University. He was not impressed. But he didn't get the entire picture. He was not happy with the fact that it was suggested that one purchase and read Ann Sieg's “The Renegade Network Marketer” as the course book before going into Phase 2 of the free University. I actually went through all the tutorials before I purchased the book. I wanted to get a feel for what was being offered. I was pleased with what I found and purchased the e-book. What Mr. Graudins didn't mention, or maybe he didn't know, is that along with the purchase of The Renegade Network Marketer e-book you get access to the Renegade Back End System which is chock full of tools, training and resources to manage and grow your business. This is far more valuable than the $67 spent for the e-book. If you should decide for any reason that you cannot make use of this information and system Ann Sieg will refund your $67. You risk nothing to check this out.
Renegade Professional Level – More Value For The Buck
Once you have plowed through all this information (I'm still working on getting through all of it) you can “test drive” RU Professional for one full week for a mere $1.00. Good luck getting through all of the tutorials and resources that are there in just one week. There is a huge gold mine of lessons and related information on all aspects of marketing on the internet that anyone in any business can use. After the 7 day test drive you have the option of continuing or not. If you didn't like what you saw you are only out $1. For a $68 initial investment, which you can get $67 refunded, you have the opportunity to see what RU is all about. If you are serious about growing you business on the Internet then I think you will be quite pleased with what you find. If you still think that the RU community are all a bunch of spammers then all you have wasted is your time and $1.
Proud Of The Value I Am Providing
If you google “Sandy Kern, Network Marketing” you will find links to the work I have done. Careful, if you go to these links you will find a lot of the links to “lead capture pages” Mr. Graudins warned you about. If you like what you see and purchase any product or service being offered I will get a commission. Thank you! I appreciate your business. I am proud of the work I have done and the progress I have made and I am proud of every dollar I earn through my efforts.

I too am a Renegade University student. I think this is a good honest article.
I purchased the Renegade Marketer before going to the University. The person directing me to the university would not necessarily receive the commission; it would have been the person directing me to the Renegade Marketer and related to the Renegade System not the Renegade University.
The Renegade Networker has a 90 day guarantee. The Renegade University has a 30 day guarantee. A person could get a full refund of every penny spent if canceling within the appropriate time frame.
Billy Graham once stated that if he spent his time answering his critics he would never get the work done that God had called him to do.
Again, this is very informative and honest. ~ Eddie
Controversy loves company! Great honest article. I wasn't aware of the RSS issue so thanks for that info. I have a training blog I am setting up so I will remember not to add the RSS to any hubs. I am putting together a health related blog and maybe that would be OK for RSS on hubs? Time will tell I guess. I think Mr. G helped push a few people to higher standards, so I think some good came out of it. That said, if he doesn't want to read about Renegade related hubs, why does he click on them? Anyway, great job.

Good For You!! No one put a gun to their head and forced them to look at our hubs - I don't look at hubs that I have no interest in, but I don't go crying to the community that they are spamming me. I have the free choice to look or not to look. A large part of the hub community is probably not interested in network marketing, but they are many who are - and they have the right to have access to articles that are of interest to them. The Internet and hubpages "belong" to all of us, not just a few elitist. David
I think Mr.Graudins is a very sharp Marketer. He has done this to promote his name!!
Look at his post, Why Make The Challenge? He new all Renegade U students would Come and comment. Setting up a contest is an old marketing trick to drum up interest.
Who Is Spamming Who, I ask. He Just spammed his way into our Lives. As Glycodoc states:
"No one put a gun to their head and forced them to look at our hubs - I don't look at hubs that I have no interest in, but I don't go crying to the community that they are spamming me."
If I want to write a hub about myself, playing Guitar, in a gorilla Suit, in my living room, that's my business. Nobody has to read it. Believe me if we little group he would never had written about us .
I say F*** Him and his shit sandwich.. Don' t post on his blog write you own. Give yourself some rateings.
Tom Alongi SALESMAN and VERY PROUD OF IT...
Thank you to everyone for your supportive comments. I figured that Eric Graudins was making a fuss about RU just to get his name out there in the public eye. Slick marketing trick but I really wouldn't want to do business with someone that worked like this. He did bring alot of attention to RU. I wanted folks who were truly interested in RU, and maybe got turned off by the negative comments, to get a positive, honest look at what RU and the RU students are all about.
Great hub, no appologies, I love it. Why should we appologise for anything we believe in? Not me, not ever. Keep up the great work.
Sandy, You have just put it out there plain and simple. It seems silly that there was even a controversy at all when you look at what it was about...just an opinion without all the facts. I'm sure I've been guilty of it myself. Great Hub!

Originally Eric was critical of R.U. students being overly promotional and possibly violating Hubpages terms and conditions. To which, ZILLIONS of R.U. students replied that possibly some of us were too promotional, but we are still learning. Taken aback with the sincerity of those responses, Eric prompltly shifted his attack to R.U. recruiting people to be affiliates, instead of training them to run their own businesses. To whic, Zillions of R.U. students replied that the university had indeed helped them with their own businesses. Taken aback with the realization that R.U. students are, by in large, a group of satisfied R.U. customers, Eric has gone in to "hiding", satisfied with his hub score.
Hey Sandy,
Well written! R.U. is being a huge help to me too. Where else could we have access to such clear simple help to do something that for most of us was certainly not clear and simple before? And pay such a small price. For such a potential return.
Thanks for writing on this.
I never heard of R.U. either until I saw this page and I think that you have provided a very balanced and informative article here and are to be congratulated for your good work and help for those investigating getting into a MLM business. Good work!
Hi Sandy,
Loved your hub...you really stood up for your beliefs and wrote with insight, clarity and passion. Good for you, I totally agree!
Sarah
Thank you Sarah!
Hi Sandy,
Great Hub!
Though I have been in and out of the network marketing arena for over 30 years and I have a moderate level of computer and Internet use, I lacked the experience of how to effectively market (get noticed) online. I started my latest Internet educational venture when I was considering marketing my "You, Inc." as a professional geoscientist, stumbled upon the struggle of NMers with"Web" marketing ultimately finding RNM and RU.
What I found in RMN was a validation of my historic feelings about the MLM and NM marketing approach while RU and especially RU-Pro provided a fantastic set of step by step training exercises designed to help people of all experience levels. Yes, there are some costs and yes, you can monetize (potentially make money) if you're willing to work at it.
IMHO however, the benefit of RU-Pro training series well exceeds the monthly cost for anyone wanting to learn the nuances of IM, Web 2.0, and so much more, whether you are in it to make money or not.
Thanks for the Hub and details you provided.
Best always,
Jim Hickey

You go girl! Excellent hub! Its kind of a no win isn't it? In the old days network marketers were chastised for not being up front about what they were doing. For example being invited for dinner only to be presented with a business opportunity!. Now we go online and get chastised for being up front. LOL
