Resident Evil Movie and Milla Jovovich
55One of my favorite movie is Resident Evil Movie series. I was familiar with the game version of resident evil series albeit I was never able to pass the first scene . I saw part of the movie scene from YouTube video which was about metal band Killswitch Engaged. (If you have teenager you get to see whole lot of new stuff now days and that is another story) I am not a horror movie fan but resident evil is more of action movie then horror movie.
Resident Evil movie has horror in essence that borrow from the same title video game. Flesh eating zombies, mad and our of control super computer along with super commando to break into tightly sealed underground make good action movie. These series have so many element came into play such as greedy, ambition to success at any cost and faced with extinction as species put enormous effort to pull together to survive. Later in these series, we will see more of this survival instinct as species especially in Extinction.

Resident Evil The Movie with Commentary
I admit I am very bad with names whether I watch movie or TV drama because I see actor/actress doing their job and I am not usually interested in their personal life. What I want to get out of movie, drama is fun and entertainment and sometimes certain value that I think is good. She showed these well in this movie. Her roll as Alice is one I can look up and would use as example in real life. Never give up, never surrender, sacrifice if you must but protect the people who are in need.
My reason for liking this movie is not about action or horror. It has to do what it send message that I perceived as strong will to survive no matter what situation. I believe that hunger and survival instinct is what influence species evolve and grow. Resident evil movie has both.
Zombies by default they are dead who are able to move about however it came to be, since they are dead they don't need to eat but the basic instinct of satisfying hunger is still present. Survival instinct can be seen from the heroin Alice's action. She has lost her memory temporary due to nerve gas in this series movie(every time she wakes up with no memory except extinction), however her instinct kicks in when danger approach, she is moving guided by innate will to live.
Short Bio about Milla Jovovich
Milla Jovovich (pronounced "mee-luh" "yo-vo-vitch") was born December 17, 1975 in Kyiv (Kiev), and moved to London, England and then to Sacramento, California, ultimately settling in Los Angeles in 1981.She married director Paul W.S. Anderson (director/writer of the Resident Evil series) on August 22, 2009 and they have a daughter together.
Her carrer began at 11 as model and she has appeared in hundreds of magazines and on dozens of covers. Her modeling led to acting roles, and in 1988 she appeared in her first film role in the romance thriller Two Moon Junction. She later starred in several other action movies, including the Resident Evil trilogy (Resident Evil (2002), Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004), Resident Evil: Extinction (2007), Ultraviolet (2006), and A Perfect Getaway (2009).
In 1994, Milla released her critically acclaimed folk album, The Divine Comedy. Inspired by a love of "elves and magic trees", Milla wrote the lyrics at 15 and recorded the album when she was just 16. Acoustic, folky, and hard to categorize, the eleven songs on The Divine Comedy are laced with Slavic sadness and X-istential self-doubt.
Milla posed as Esmeralda from Victor Hugo's classic The Hunchback of Notre Dame to raise funds for United Nations Children's Fund. (UNICEF) Milla is an ambassador for amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) and also supports several other charities, including OCRF (Ovarian Cancer Research Fund), The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, Wildlands Project, and UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

Resident Evil Movie and Milla Jovovich in the News

JUDGING by her resume, you could say actress Milla Jovovich has a messiah complex, whether she is saving the world from zombies (Resident Evil), vampires (Ultraviolet) or aliens (The Fifth Element). In her latest movie, however, she tones it down a notch, hoping to save only people from themselves.

For anyone who is a fan of genre movies, horror or science fiction flicks in particular, Milla Jovovich should be considered nothing less than a shining, golden goddess.
