Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles One Minute Video Game Review

A part of the very popular Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is played on the Wii, which guarantees a different gaming experience as compared to any other console. The Wii provides a more interactive form of game play, and this makes Resident Evil even more likeable.

Nintendo Wii has grabbed success in shooter and action adventure games such as the Resident Evil chronicles because of its gameplay interface.  Wii, with its format, was guaranteed to rake in a lot of support from those who prefer playing action adventure and shooter games.

Darkside Chronicles is the retelling of the events in Resident Evil 2 and Code: Veronica. The player can opt to play as Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield with Sherry Birkin and Ada Wong in the Resident Evil 2 chapter. In The Code: Veronica portion, the female protagonist Claire will still be there but is accompanied by Steve Burnside, a Rockfort Island prisoner.

What makes Darkside Chronicles new if it just retells events of the past Resident Evils? The old memories and past ordeals of the characters combine with the new graphics, music, sound and series to produce a whole new gaming experience. The game can be called the re-imagination of the game.

The cooperative gameplay that is available in this game can be really challenging. Especially in scripted areas wherein there are levels where your partner will get immobilized by a zombie. A few strategically placed shots will set your partner free.

If you think that a retelling is boring, think again. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles on  the Wii, is far from boring. Wii gives a whole new experience, as its controls and interface make things a so much “closer” to the gamer. Wii is popular with zombie shootout and other action adventure games and Resident Evil is not an exception.

The retelling of the stories of Resident Evil 2 and Code: Veronica does not affect the game that largely because a different perspective is taken by the player. A whole new series of flashbacks come and clear portions of the story. This should also help new players get to know the game storyline fairly easily.

Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles Gameplay Review

Darkside Chronicles offers a realistic gaming experience. There is more audio as compared to the other Resident Evil games. More sounds are heard in the background, such as the main characters, Leon and Claire chatting.

The graphics can still be improved a bit, but they are pretty decent. The light effects and smoothness of the terrain and other elements of the display can still be improved by the designers. But the existing display mode is pretty decent already.

This installment of Resident Evil absolute selling point is the nostalgia that it gives to fans of this franchise.  This will surely be a hit for those who want to reminisce about all the things in previous Resident Evil releases yet in a whole new perspective. Therefore, if there is one specific market that this game caters to this would be the first period.

Some new players might have to take a bit of time to understand the characters and situations in order to gain a familiarity with both. For that reason, it is a good thing that the game comes with handy flashbacks. This is a great way to quickly understand the storyline and become another fan of Resident Evil popular franchise game.

Whether you are a long-time fan of the Resident Evil franchise or just considering it for the first time, Darkside Chronicles will make a fantastic addition to you collection.

I'd like to hear your thoughts, so after you check it out, stop by and leave me a comment.

Enjoy!

Nice Hub - never really been into Resident Evil type games - but as you mention the Wii element makes it a 'closer' experience - may just have to try this one! Thanks!
