Ever wanted to resize a batch of images instantly without needing Photoshop or some other fancy, expensive image editor? Well if you're on a Mac then I know a way to resize images for free and guess what? You don't need to install any additional software! So let's get started!
Mac OSX ships with a program called "Automator". You can use automator to make custom applications that, well, automate tasks.
First open up automator which is located in your Applications folder by default. If you are on Leopard chose "Custom" like in the screenshot below:
Now in the right side bar go to "Files and Folders" and drag "Copy Finder Items" onto the little workshop area. Do the same with "Scale Images" which is located in the "Photos" category.
Now go to "File" menu and then "Save" you can choose any location, I used the desktop. In the drop down box below the save location switch Workflow to Application:
Go to Finder and select all the photos you want to resize. Then drag them onto the Automator Application you just created.
Tada! Your images were resized! I resized the forth screenshot on this page and I got this:
