As a Christian I Respect the Belief-Choices of Others

Freedom of Religion
I’m of the Christian Faith. When I think back to when I first started writing articles about Christianity, I always determined to not be one who forced my beliefs on others but to share them as completely as I could for anyone interested in reading them.
That’s the good thing about the internet because like television, if you don’t like what’s on a channel, just don’t watch it or turn it to something you like. If you don’t like the beliefs expressed in an article you can do the same thing – go to a different channel or just pass it by. I do the same when I see articles that don’t interest me.
At times I’ve participated in forum-debates in regard to beliefs on a limited basis because the discussions degrade into attacks with very few exceptions and I don’t see anything positive coming from that. At times I’ve participated in threads when invited to do so and when after reading incorrect information in regard to Christian beliefs or ones that generalized all Christians into one category, I felt the need to express some correction on certain points (if it was something I had knowledge-in) for the sake of readers visiting a thread.
You might say I’m passive but not in the sense that I hide my Christianity, in fact conversations I have with people often present me opportunity to share my faith. What I don’t do, is go any further in sharing it when I know someone is not interested in hearing it. I’m very perceptive as to whether someone is open to hearing about my faith beliefs or not and I respect their position in not wanting to hear it. Pushing one’s beliefs down other’s throats so-to-speak can do more harm than good.
I also don’t pretend to be in a position to tell others they can’t practice the beliefs of their choice. I can completely and totally disagree with them in what they believe or practice but at the same time I recognize their right to do so. If they don’t return that respect in recognizing my right to do the same, then they become the intrusive one and the one trying to impose their beliefs on me.
Faith from my personal perspective and that I know is shared with many others is a choice and a decision, not a command, a ritual or a religion and many of us who accept Jesus Christ believe it is relationship with him and not a religious experience. People can make a religion out of anything and they have done so in every imaginable way.
Even as an American, I see that the USA as a nation recognizes “freedom of religion” and I totally agree with it. I also believe God intended for men to make choices and that he was created to do so and that this was recognized by the formers of our nation’s constitution. I also believe there is a God who will judge men for the choices they make. If you happen to be among those who don’t hold to that belief, just move on with that choice and be happy with it and don’t worry about the fact that others of us believe this. We who do believe this should at the same time not worry about the fact that others choose not to believe and to respect their decision in that (Only God can give the "increase" on a seed that's planted - we simply plant seeds and others water them.).
I personally don’t worry about unbelievers but am always glad to express my beliefs to them when it is asked of me or when I can see openness from them for doing so. If they do shut the door on me so-to-speak, I won’t knock again unless invited or until they knock on my door (make their request known) wanting to hear more.
