It seems everytime I go out to eat I order nachos at Chili's Bar and Grill.  Here you will find a shopping lists of ingredients and how to make this dish at home instead of going to the restaurant.


WHAT'S ON THE KICKING JACK NACHOS?

Kicked up nachos with beans and queso with jalapeno peppers and Jack cheese. Served with pico de gallo and sour cream.

SHOPPING LIST

  • restaurant style tortilla chips
  • chili beans
  • shredded Jack cheese
  • velveta cheese
  • sour cream
  • salsa
  • jalapeno peppers
  • tomatoes
  • onion
  • garlic
  • 2 limes
  • cilantro


MAKE THE PICO de GALLO

MAKE THE QUESO

Take a large hunk of velveta cheese and cut into smaller chuncks.  Put in a bowl and melt in the microwave until in melts.  Dump in a little bit of salsa to taste.  Make sure the mixture does not get too runny.

BUILD THE NACHOS

  1. Line a cookie sheet with toritllas.
  2. Top with Jack cheese.
  3. Spoon on chili beans (just the beans and not the sauce).
  4. Give the beans a light drizzle of the queso sauce.
  5. Put on more Jack cheese.
  6. Add sliced jalapeno peppers.
  7. Bake until cheese melts.
  8. Serve with sour cream and pico de gallo on the side.
