I just tried my first fish taco and am totally hooked and have found out how to make them at home.

These are Inspired by the heritage and flavor of Baja California. Long John Silver's Baja Fish Tacos feature batter-dipped fish layered inside a soft flour tortilla with crunchy crumblies, crisp lettuce and Baja sauce.

I use the beer batter mix pictured to the right and make my own fried fish. It only takes about 5 minutes in the deep fryer and tastes much better than the frozen which you can also use.  For a lighter, lower calorie meal you can marinate your fish in mexican spices and grill instead of frying.

Here is the hubpage I wrote about making Long John Silver's Beer Battered Fish and Shrimp. Which will tell you how to do it.

Once you have your fish prepared, decide which toppings you would like. Most of the "real" baja fish tacos in California come with a spicy sauce and cole slaw instead of plain lettuce.

The choice is yours and you can customize them any way you like. I'll include the recipes below.  Serve your fish tacos on warm flour tortillas.
