Restauarant Marketing Tips For Owners

Restaurant Marketing Tips That Can Help Your Bottom Line!!

Restaurant Marketing Tips for owners that want the edge over the competition. Winning in the Restaurant Wars: Five Tips to Come Out Ahead. As a former restaurant owner I can tell you that this restaurant business is a war. It's a bitter, hard fought war and being on the frontlines is a difficult time especially if you're losing the battle. So what can you do to turn the tables to turning profit and cutting waste instead of wasting money hand over fist? Utilizing the tips listed here can be that start.

Tip #1: Cutting The Waist restaurant marketing is big today. I know - play on words. The world is becoming more and more health conscious and as a restaurant owner you have to change the way you do things to meet these new standards and trends. Being able to offer low fat, low-calorie and sugar-free is a great way to expand your customer base. Create an entire menu devoted to the calorie conscious. They can be the same items on your regular menu but trimmed down. Make sure your advertising states, within a cute starburst, that you have this special menu.

Tip #2: Quality Over Quantity that's what a lot of restaurants market and that's what people look for. I know it's not always a popular choice to cut down on the size of your portions but it saves you money and waste. It's perfect if you couple it with promotion of fresh made food or food made to order. Your customers will equate it to one on one personal service raising your status as a food purveyor and you can then market yourself as fresh food which is usually also identified with quality. By cutting down on the portion size while maintaining pricing will have your customers ordering appetizers or desserts thusly increasing sales.

Tip #3: Half Portions deals could increase traffic into your business. A great way for you to increase profits and customer base is by advertising that you now have half portions. Having these reduced sized portions priced a couple dollars less than a full dinner will still get your customers to spend the extra buck or two on the full sized entrée as it's now a perceived value. Half portions also work toward the health conscious as well as for lunch specials. Your entire menu doesn't have to be half sized. In fact if you offer five or six items you are well on your way to higher profits and less waste as well just great restaurant marketing tip.

Tip #4: Travel Guides with your logo could boost traffic is good restaurant marketing tip. Travel guides are used quite often by many people. Typically they are free for you to become a part of. You can offer variety of coupons and specials. The books have to be paid for and people want their money's worth. You business can be listed between the covers allows your business the chance of getting a bunch more customers with zero investment on your part. Just make the coupons good because the better the coupon the better chance you have to increase your customer traffic.

Tip #5: Adding a To-Go station is a fantastic restaurant marketing tip your competition might not be doing. Everyone knows how much money To-Go restaurants can make. Look at Chinese food and your typical pizza joint. Just because you have a larger sit-down facility does NOT mean you can not cash in on To-go and delivery. People get tired of Chinese and Pizza and don't feel like going out to eat. Offering delivery service for a full restaurant menu at a small feel can increase your business tremendously. Allowing ordering by FAX or via the Internet can also increase sales. In this information driven age of wireless communication people just want to use the phone anymore.

I agree, great tips, restaurant marketing has improved over the last few years. And there is also the internet aspect of marketing that'll drive an even greater amount of business to your restaurant. Sumbitting your restaurant in free directories such as http://www.123orders.com and http://www.findamericanrestaurants.com are great ways to basically Have The Internet work for you. Also, looking for web designers who's niche are restaurant web site building is another good way to get market yourself out there. For example, http://www.affordablerestaurantwebsites.com specifically caters to restaurant owners. Use the internet to do the work for you.

Those are some great tips. I think some membership programs might be helpful too. If their designed well and easy to use for customers then it's win. One's like http://www.sellmoremeals.com/

With the cost of postage going up I think direct mail marketing is going to die and Internet and email campaigns with membership advantages are going to blossom out of necessity.

You're comment about half portions is a good one too. With the economy heading south quick I think it would probably be good to have specials for couples. Where two people could share a meal for just a little extra over the cost of a full meal. I was out the other day with a group of five and were eating at a Greek restaurant and they had a special family meal that we were considering ordering to save money. I thought that was a great idea too. This particular restaurant just opened and they've been busting their rears to retain customers with good service and specials they keep advertising on their sign.
