KC triumphant return??

Katie's comeback

Katie Couric >> Celebrity status? KC, NBC's well known co-host of the Today show may possibly be returning soon, or so Matt Lauer likes to joke. On September 5th 2006, the bombshell anchor made a very publicised move from NBC to CBS and became the first solo anchor of the weekday evening news on 3 networks, replacing Bob Schieffer as the anchor, and managing editor of the CBS News. Katie became the highest paid new anchor for 15 million dollars a year salary - nothing to sneeze at - despite leaving her former position that had a 20 million dollar a year salary offer.

The current Buzz on Katie Couric, is that she may be parting ways with CBC before her contract is up in 2011 ( possibly as soon as January) following the Presidential Inaugeration, according to TV insiders. This would be CBS's move at an attempt to revive some ratings as the replacement - Anderson Cooper - is expected to be the next ' In ', and most likely to become the new host of the " CBS Evening news " ( but with far less recognisable legs, as in the case of hottie KC).

Couric was brought in to attract the younger viewers & get them to watch the news apparently, somethingthat didn't quite happen despite the abrupt move. CBS however, also failed to make the move more productive on their part and utilize her celebrity makeing it more than it could have been. On the other hand, one could say their ratings are high enough so it may just be she doesn't have the touch they are looking for. Or maybe there are some hidden agendas behind the move ...
