Young and Old together again!

Nearing the end of the month of June, the weather starts to get warmer. Out doors activities for weddings are on the rise. Flowers and chairs are lined up. One after the other to present the bride and her escorts of honorees. The preacher entered in and two other handsome young men who have convince themselves it will be over in a few minutes.

Everyone is standing as the music becomes louder. The court of the bride best friends slowly gather down both aisles leading to the altar of the courtyard. The flower girls laid their paddlers of fresh roses up and down the way. The lights are dimmed low and the one remaining light shines on the subject at hand, here comes the bride escorted by the one who has promised to give her away.

Dearly, beloved we are gathered here today to have a family reunion. A union that started with the thought of getting together, as one did when they married each other. Friends, families and neighbors were invited from all points of the United States.

First it started with a few saying let’s makes this happen! Then they plan and plan and results followed. The task and the motion of a family reunion begin to pick up speed. You could hear the words of the preacher man, saying are there anyone here that objects to this reunion taking place. Speak now are forever hold your peace.

With the date set and the invitation being sent out by mail, email and word of mouth. The reunion is drawing in success! Family members with grown kids are calling in to say YES! I will be there. Cousins and Nephews are asking how is that on the phone? Uncle Bow and Aunt Mattie Sue, family members who rise us up when we were kids playing in those piney woods.

It is Time to bring on the games, the tables, and the hardware that is bounced from hand to hand and table to table, cards with the magic touch and board games for the younger kids to play like pin the tail on the donkey, bobbing for apples, basketball, baseball. A little flag football to capture your attention. The reunion brings the skilled and the unskilled together, as if it was the Super Bowl Championship all over again.

While everyone is outdoors, breaking down a sweat. The kitchen is filled with experience cooks! They have cooked this and they have cooked that. You need to add a pinch of this to make that better. Someone once said. "She put her foot into this meal." That is the meal that everyone piles there plate full of.

The food presented at the reunion can be compare to the 5-star restaurant in your neighborhood. The difference is that it is finger licking good all the time.

What would a reunion be like if you did not acknowledge the ones who started it all. A reunion is to all kids, to all children, the teenagers, young adults, grown adults, Senior members and a Memorial to each offspring of the ones how has gone to a better place in the sky.

A Reunion is a way to keep the family together! A reunion is a way to see the future of our families today, and still see them tomorrow.

The only thing that is better than a family reunion is keeping your immediate family together and sharing with them who their RELATIVES are. It’s time for a Reunion!
