What is GoDaddy?

Go Daddy is one of the most popular domain registrars on the Internet.  By the beginning of 2009, Go Daddy had registered more than 30 million domain names.  Go Daddy does more than just register domain name for users, it allows registrants to completely manage their domain names.  So even if you buy a domain name through Go Daddy, you can still use it elsewhere with a web hosting service.  You can transfer, forward and completely manage redirects through Go Daddy's admin control panel.  They try to make it easy for anybody to own a domain name.

How to use GoDaddy

Using Go Daddy starts when you register to use the site.  You do not have to register a domain name to register to use their web site.  Once you register a domain name, that is where the real lesson begins.  You can use Go Daddy to do a variety of things with a domain name, the most important features of Go Daddy are: Forwarding a domain, transferring a domain and setting up a domain.  You can do all of this from the Go Daddy administrator control panel.  Once you get the hang of the control panel, you can move on to manage multiple domains and have control over the part of the Internet you have bought.

Is GoDaddy worth it?

I have been using Go Daddy for more than two years now, and while I only own a handful of domains, few are actually in current use.  It took me some time to learn the hang of things, but this had more to do with learning how domain names work as opposed to how Go Daddy works.  Once you dive right in, Go Daddy provides you with detailed tutorials on how the system works and if you get stuck, they have spot-on tech support that answers queries rather quickly.  I have been very impressed with Go Daddy so far and have no issues with their service.
