Review: LG enV Touch

What is the LG enV Touch?
Remember the LG Voyager? Meet is replacement: The LG enV Touch. LG took all the features that made the Voyager an innovation in the cell phone field and merged it with the brand name and style of the enV family of phones. The LG VX11000 is the direct predecessor to the Voyager and brings with it a huge touch screen, Dolby mobile sound, Bluetooth-capable music streaming and a 3.2 MP camera. If you are still getting used to the Voyager-based touch screen and typing on it, you can take full advantage of the built-in QWERTY keyboard the enV and enV 2 utilized.

What makes the LG enV Touch special?
One of the biggest advantages of the enV Touch model is its integration of Dolby mobile sound. I have never heard a more beautiful phone in all my life. Everything from my favorite music to my ringtones sound amazing. I was very surprised at how fast streaming music from the phone to my computer occurred as well. In the past, connecting my cell phone to my computer via Bluetooth took forever but now with the enV Touch, in a matter of seconds, I am good to go.
I knew many people who were unhappy with the calibration sensitivity of the Voyager. The enV Touch eliminates most of the problems with calibration. From the start, you calibrate your phone to your touch and you can easily go back in and recalibrate if the response seem off. While texting on the touch screen takes some time to get used to, once you get the hang of it and wean yourself off the QWERTY keyboard, you will wonder why you ever used the latter to begin with.
Is the LG enV Touch worth it?
When my original LG enV finally died on me, I was torn between the Blackberry Storm (which I had been talking up since its release last summer) and the enV 2. The enV Touch had just been released, and while I had read amazing reviews about the product from trusted sources – like CNET – I was hesitant to continue with the LG brand after issues with my enV mysteriously turning on and off and then seeing it happen with other models under their name. However, after seeing the features on the enV Touch, reading reviews and shopping around, I decided to take the chance and I have not regretted it since.
