Rewards of Attraction

As we go about our business of the day, so many will go about without looking someone in the eye and smiling or saying "good morning," or even being polite.

That smile or greeting are energy....................that you give to others and if you're lucky you will get it back, but don't expect it, they may not know how to handle it.

Why? Because we have been taught "stranger danger" since we were so young and "not to look someone in the eye when passing." We have been told not to show emotion because it will make us vulnerable.

Personally I would rather take the risk.

Reach out Positively

What would happen if you, "from this day forward," began to reach out positively. With that smile on your face and in your voice or a kind word?

What would happen is that people would become "attracted" to you because of your positive outlook and because you made them feel special by sharing your energy.

There is not a day that goes by that there isn't a situation or a "prompting" that shouldn't be addressed.

A "thank you, great job, sympathy, a hug, I believe in you." And yet how many times have these gone unanswered.

Just think how you could be the one to change a life or a moment. When you go to Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Live with Thrive, or any of the other social sites do you ever look for someone having a birthday, or just reaching out for guidance or just wrote a great article?

Or did you just pass up a "prompting?"

Reaching out positively should be done without expectation of a return. Your success in your life depends on this. If you treat someone nicely, they will respond in kind.

Of course, much of this is done through the technology of the internet and with this technology we have actually forgotten what it would be like to write a letter, send a card, or pick up the phone.

E-mails become deleted, twitter gives you 140 characters, facebook will be looked at and forgotten, but a letter can be folded and put into a special box, a card will be framed or put into that special box, and a call will echo in the recipients mind for days, hours and years to come.

If you are in any business, whether it be online or offline, you cannot afford to ignore your "promptings."

People will remember you and how you treated them. They will pass on to others this information, this passed information can either take your business to the next level or take your business to the brink of disaster. Be careful...

"The Power of the Unexpected"

The Power of the unexpected communication can have a very far reaching affect. It can affirm ones feelings about themselves. Grow that confidence that they need to move forward and to know that someone out there really notices them and cares about them

Yet we continue to ignore these moments because we have excuses.

  • You have to go to the store?
  • Cards have become to expensive?
  • Cards are not what you were looking for?
  • Forgot an address?
  • The cards is not personal enough?
  • It is time consuming to write?
  • You Forgot and now it is to late?
  • Don't have stamp?
  • There are to many people on your list to contact?
  • It will just go into the garbage anyway?

Is this why you have forgotten "the power of the unexpected?" It is easy but there really are no more excuses.

Send out Cards is a concept that began from missing a "prompting" or a moment that will never be forgotten, one that the founder has built this business around in honor of.

You see studies have been done that claims that we the average American only buys 10 greeting cards a year when we should be buying about 70 or more. And, there are even fewer letters written every year because of the internet and cell phone texting.

This is all a lost art, many of the people that really need to hear from you are older and may not have a computer or able to text or really need more than just that e-mail. Something that they can hold onto and read and re-read. Something tangible that they can remember you by.

Something that would change a mere contact into a lasting connection.

Giving to Give

"Giving to Give" is the main moto of Send out Cards. In otherwords it is about the connection you make rather than the business that you have the opportunity to create. You are "cultivating rather than hunting."

Recently I read a little story about a farmer who gave his prized corn seed to his neighbors. You wonder why would he do that? Here is what the farmer told a reporter that thought the farmer was crazy for giving away his seed.

"You don't understand how corn is pollinated. It's pollinated from neighboring fields. And if you have fields around you that don't have top-quality corn, then your fields are not going to grow top quality corn. But if my neighbor's field has strong corn, the I will have awesome corn."

Helping people around you do better will help you do better. Keeping in touch with them will let them know that you genuinely care about them.

The card is like that corn seed, it is visible and carries a lot of depth and is very valuable.

This value certainly will carry over into your relationship and then without warning "what goes around" will be "coming around."

Limitless Possibilities

With Send out Cards you have limitless possibilities to create and customize your own card for whatever the occasion is.

This is beyond the seven tiers of cards with the same saying, different look, "rabbit eared" corners from excessive handling and not being able to find an envelope to fit the card in.

With all the new technolgy of digital photography your card becomes just that "your card." No more "same ole Look" Get all of your photo's out of the "digital" storage and begin to use them.

A photo of yourself, a favorite place that you have been, or a picture of your logo on the front. For a nominal fee, SendOutCards will create and set-up your own custom card. With this, a business can choose between their own custom cards, or have the flexibility of using any of the cards already available in SendOutCards main card catalog.

You have the ability to say anything that you want inside your card too and you can have your signature and handwriting font on file, so that, again it is your and only yours.

Yes, send out cards is more that just a card, it is a business that helps keep you in business and in touch with family, friends and friends of the future.

Angela,

It's true that cards are a unique way to make someone feel special in so many ways. They make a lasting impression for friends, family and business. The practice of sending cards goes way beyond an email, or even a phone call. People save them, refer back to them, and remember them. As a business, it's a no brainer! (no I'm not on board yet/ yes I just called myself stupid) The first step is recognizing the problem. Thanks for reminding us of what's important.

Hi Becky,

Thank you for checking out my hub. Connecting with people through cards, letters, phone calls, or even a little postcard are so very important. We have all gotten so far away from this because of email and the technology, that it is becoming an art form soon to be lost. I know how much it means to me when I recieve this form of communication. It tells me that someone took some time out of their day to make me feel important. And that to me is special.

Thank you again Becky,

Angela

In today's "Techie" world it's the little personal touches that really matter. I think the more we embrace the internet and all things digital the more we crave personal, tactile contact with others. Greeting cards are a great way to say "I'm a real person and I care"

Hi Angela,

Getting a heart-felt card in the mail is like getting a smile and a hug that you can hold in your hand. It's a tangilbe reminder that someone special thinks you're special. Thanks for helping people to keep those "warm fuzzies" going.

I've aways enjoyed getting a card through the mail - it seems so much more personal and caring. In this world of technology, it is so nice to sometimes get back to basics. Thanks for a great hub.

Angela,

You're written a beautiful article that describes the downward spiral of our state of communication and offers a very easy solution.

There is nothing like receiving a heartfelt sentiment in the form of letter or card in the mail. We all treasure and appreciate the effort given this gesture. It truly is a lost art in the midst of technology.

I have received a couple of Send Out Cards in the mail. Even though I realize you can customize the greeting and the image, it still doesn't have the feel of a personal greeting when it lacks the sender's own handwriting. The ones I received had the feeling of the card that is automatically sent from the dentist's office reminding you of your next visit or a company generated Christmas card. No personal touch. Sorry if it sounds negative.. . it's not meant to; just my feeling about it.

I certainly appreciated the thought, though.

Thank you for great reminder to connect on a deeper level with our friends, family, and business prospects.

Angela - What a great article and reminder. I too love SendOutCards, it combines the ease of the internet with the personal touch of a thoughtful word. I disagree with Theresa's comment. Apparently the people sending her cards did not bother to do their own handwriting font. I love to get cards from others and as they say "It is the thought that counts."

Sue and Donna, Thank you all for your comments. I love Send Out Cards.

Theresa,

I am so sorry that your experience with Send Out Cards has been impersonal. But, within the program the sender has the opportunity to do "handwriting fonts." This way the card becomes more personal and in their own handwriting. If you are in contact with these people you may want to mention this to them so that the people they are sending them to will enjoy them more. I do agree that if the handwriting font is not used then the card does have a very generic feel. It still takes time though to pick it out and send it to you. They are thinking of you.

Angela
