The Vacant Interim WBC International Featherweight Title is at Stake

BY Friday- Oct 16, Rey "BomBom" Bautista, Hero of Bohol, Philippines is pitted to fight against Marangin "Dinamita" Marbun of Indonesia. Boxing aficionados and TV enthusiasts will see the two of them live as main protagonists for 12 solid rounds for the coveted Vacant Interim WBC International Featherweight Title at the Cebu Waterfront Hotel Boxing Arena.

Bautista- who has been inactive for almost a year- is a combacking boxer because he underwent a fractured scaphoid surgery in his left hand performed by Dr. Tammy de los Reyes at the Manila Doctors Hospital last February. The truth has finally been told. One week before the Ponce de Leon fight- Boom-Boom was stricken with fever, moreover- he injured his wrist while sparring with Gerry Penalosa. According to sports writer and analyst, Quinito Henson's article- Boom-Boom was already having pains with his left hand when he faced Ponce de Leon but he chose to kept his injury a secret for fear of having the fight cancelled and that people might say he was using his injury as an alibi for his 1st round knockout loss to de Leon. In his professional boxing career, he already suffered 2 setbacks- the first was in the hands of Daniel Ponce De Leon some 27 months back and another loss to Mexican veteran Heriberto Ruiz some 11 months ago in 2008

Bautista, 23, holds a record of 26 wins 2 losses as against Marbun- 19-5-1 (7ko's). Marbun is always on the go. He already fought 5 times this 2009 and has not lost in his last 8 encounters. Who's more dangerous? Who will stand unscathed after the last bell is sounded?

Equally thrilling sets of pugilists will open the Oct. 16 Cebu Waterfront Hotel boxing matches billed "HAMON SA KAMPEON"

Czar Amonsot- 20-3-1 versus Jesaus Muzaka- 16-7

Jason Pagara- 19-1 versus Decha Bankluaygym- 29-9-3

Despite his losses, Boom-Boom is still popular with the crowd who mobbed him with photo and autograph signing request after the official weigh-in.  Sports writer and analyst, Dennis Principe and Dyan Castellejo with ABS-CBN boxing crew are now in Cebu to cover the boxing event.

LET'S WATCH THE FIGHT!
