Chris Brown has been charged with two felony charges stemming from the brutal argument with Rihanna over her discovery of a text message from another woman.

The felony charges filed were of assault likely to cause great bodily harm and making criminal threats.  Chris Brown faces these charges next month, April, and is out on a $50,000 bail.  Chris Brown has been ordered by the court commissioner not to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.  The commissioner however,  did not order Brown to stay away from Rihanna.

Chris Brown's alleged victim is Robyn Rihanna Fenty whose stage name is Rihanna.  Rihanna's attorney, Donald Etra also identified her as Brown's alleged victim. It is unclear whether Rihanna will testify against Brown and her lawyer did not say that the two had reunited though wire reports indicates otherwise.

Chris Brown could get from probationor up to four years and eight months in state prison if convicted.  The argument occurred on February 8, 2009 after Rihanna checked Chris Brown's cell phone and found a text message from another woman.  Chris Brown pulled his car over and tried to push Rihanna out while she was still wearing her seat belt.  Then Chris Brown pushed Rihanna's head against the window and punched her with his right hand.  Chris Brown continued driving while he was hitting her.  Chris Brown also bit Rihanna on her ear.  Chris Brown also threatened to kill Rihanna when she pretended to leave a phone message with her assistant telling her to have police waiting at her house.

Chris Brown's blows to Rihanna's face caused her mouth to bleed.  Chris Brown also tried to choke Rihanna after she took the keys to his car away and threw them on the ground.  Rihanna nearly lost consciousness but tried to fight back while in the car.

Chris Brown who is 19 issued a statement a week after the incident saying that he was "sorry and saddened" by the incident.  Rihanna turned 21 while recupperating with her father on the islands prior to the court hearing.
