Getting Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is another word for a nose job. In modern times, western cultures are obsessed with appearance. We want to look young forever and fit the standard of how we're supposed to look. We want our features to fit the standard and so there is a big market which we refer to as plastic surgery, or cosmetic surgery. One of the most common kinds of cosmetic surgery is Rhinoplasty.

Rhinoplasty is requested by both men and women alike to fix imperfections in the structure of their noses. This is usually smaller nostrils, a straighter bridge, reshaping the nose tips, etc. Rhinoplasty can be an extremely painful surgery with a long recovery time. More often than not, the patients face will be swollen and he/she will have to wear bandages until it goes down. This makes it difficult to see the result of the surgery until a few weeks after, when the nose has recovered.

Rhinoplasty is also very expensive. It depends on the severity of the procedure that will take place, the surgeon, and the place you live, but rhinoplasy will almost always run you up a pretty penny. (You get what you pay for so this isn't the type of thing to be cheap about). The actual surgery generally costs between $3000 and $6000 and the anaesthesiologist will generally charge around $1500. Because getting a nose job is so expensive, many people seek doctors abroad to perform the surgery at a lesser cost. This is always risky since you probably won't know much about the doctor beforehand, aside from what you read on the internet which can be completely fabricated.

There are a lot of people who seek out rhinoplasty and go through with the surgery. Many of those who do are not entirely happy with the outcome. This isn't always the doctors fault. Some people are so eager to change their face they don't really think about the consequences. Other times someone went to a bad doctor, usually because the cost was low, and the nose turned out wrong. Either way, this is why we have rhinoplasty revision

Rhinoplasty revision is when someone gets a nose job and want it changed after the fact. This is extremely expensive and the recovery time will most likely be twice as long, since you will be, in essence, getting a second nose job. Generally the secondary nose job, or rhinoplasty revision is more severe than the original since a botched surgery yields major deformities. Occasionally, rhinoplasty revision is performed on someone who is slightly unhappy with the way it turned out. A lot of patients who seek out rhinoplasty revision think that they're nose looks operated on and unnatural. Sometimes after a nose job the nose doesn't work properly. Sometimes the nose just looks wrong with other facial features. Whatever the reason, many people seek out rhinoplasty revision. When they do, it's important to find a doctor who is even better than the original. This usually ends up costing a lot more, but it's an important and necessary surgery for a lot of the people who get it.

If you are considering getting rhinoplasty, take a long time to consider and weigh out the possible consequences. There is a reason why rhinoplasty revision is a growing field. If you are seeking out rhinoplasty revision it is important to do a lot of research before choosing a doctor. Go one a few consultations with different doctors and hear what they have to say. A doctor who promised you that rhinoplasty revision will give you a perfect nose is probably not the right doctor. You want a doctor that is going to be reasonable. There's no such thing as a perfect nose and anyone who tells you otherwise is not a perfect doctor. Take your time choosing. Rhinosplasty revision is a serious surgery, often more so than the original surgery, so make sure you ask about risks and recovery time.

After the rhinoplasty revision, there will be a lot of bruising and swelling, just as after the original rhinoplasty and sometimes more severe. This is normal and you will have to weight for the nose to heal before seeing the results. It's best not to even look in the mirror for a few days because you might experience post-surgery depression. It's hard to tell what the nose will look like for a while, but if you did your research properly and chose a good doctor, the rhinoplasty revision should have gone fine and you'll have nothing to worry about.

Also make sure you do research about your options with anaesthesia and what materials they might use to do the rhinoplasty revision. Every doctor will tell you something different, and it's your job to know if you're not being given your best options when it comes down to it. After a rhinoplasty revision, many patients complain of a runny knows. This is normal and should subside after about 9 months, but can take up to two years. In most cases, it happens after exercise and isn't something to be worrying about all of the time. But if it's more server see the surgeon who performed the revision rhinoplasty on you. Don't take chances with your nose!

Sometimes when people get rhinoplasty revision, at the same time they will get a chin implant. If this is something you're considering and your doctor recommends getting both done at once, it would be wise to take his suggestion as you will heal quicker than getting one done after the other. In any event, rhinoplasty revision is a serious surgery and you should make sure you know who your surgeon is before taking any steps forward. The last thing you want is to have a third rhinoplasty revision.
