Rick Moranis Music
60A little about Rick Moranis
Rick Moranis was born April 18th 1953 in Toronto. Rick grew up in Toronto and the 1970’s used the stage name “Rick Allen” as a dj for several local radio stations. It is here that Rick first became a fan of country and blues music. As the years passed Rick became well known throughout North America. He was married and had 2 children with Anne Moranis, who unfortunately passed away in 1991. Afterward Moranis continued to be a devoted father, but took a short time off of work.
Moranis became a well known comedic actor with many long term roles on SCTV (most famously his role as Bob McKenzie). It was in 1986 that Moranis first was able to highlight his musical abilities when starring in the musical film “Little Shop Of Horrors” in the role of Seymour Krelborn. In 1989 Moranis put out his first album “you, me, the music, and me”. This album was 100% Canadian created (certified by the federal government) and spanned several genres of music. After this Moranis took a break from music until 2005 when he released his second album “The Agoraphobic Cowboy” featuring much more country and bluegrass feel which he had re-discovered a love for through the help of his children.
