One thing I have always gravitated toward is a person who is blunt and to the point  . We in America are so concerned with being politically correct that in my opinion it has become one of our liabilities and not one of our assets . We are afraid to tell the truth these days because it seems to me that no matter what you say anymore some thin skinned individual will cry foul and immediately play the victim card . We cry we are offended instead of exhibiting the internal toughness that was one of the traits that made us one of the greatest nations on this planet. And we now live in an age where speaking your mind as is your right leaves you subject not only to public ridicule but a lawsuit by a bunch of ambulance chasers hoping to exploit your opinions to their financial benefit !

And I say heck with em ! Many years before I moved to San Diego I worked for a large company where I had a General Manager and an operations Manager . My GM was a very emotionally volatile Individual who could sometimes explode like a volcano and at times would make a comment to me that I would not appreciate  . And yes I would get angry  . And not being one to wilt in the face of confrontation would stand my ground in an appropriate manner . Now we were not drinking buddies by any means nor was he on my christmas card list , but I had immense respect from him . And the reason I respected him was because I always knew where he was coming from , no subterfuge  , no hidden agendas he was all about straight talk . And my Operations manager would act like your buddy and then when out of sight go about the backstabbing that is part and parcel with being a part of the corporate culture . I always had my eye on him . Do I need to spell out for you which one had my trust ? He operated like so many of the people that we elected to Capitol Hill . Who make all the cliche promises of fighting corruption , looking out for your welfare , and we keep re-electing them for the next 25 or 30 years and now we sit befuddled and wonder why  our stature nationwide is in the toilet !

So this brings me to the primary focus of my hub . As I would like to reiterate give me the guy who tells it like it is . And one individual who seems to be showing up on my radar lately is Texas Governor Rick Perry . Rick Perry was at a luncheon of republican women and blatantly stated what many of us who are not myopic suspect and probably know . That we are indeed headed towards socialism  !  And he said this I am sure more then aware that liberal fishwraps like the LA Times and the NY Times are going to go into full attack mode to poke holes in his argument . As well as the MSNBCs of this world or as I call It the H1N1 of TV news channels . I am sure that our current administration is setting their crosshairs on this man right now . And if Rick Perry is the man I suspect he is I am pretty sure he does not give a you know what ! Rick Perry was talking about secession from the USA during tea party season a few months back and has been consistently sounding the trumpet of the Ills of what is currently a bad morphing of these United States .

Now I am not certain that all Rick Perry says is accurate , but I suspect he knows one hell of alot more then I do about the workings of the machine that Is American politics . I do not mind saying I hope Texas does not secede , I hope San Francisco does ! I would not mind them no longer getting my tax dollars . I mean they put into a program Guatemalen Illegals who killed a man and his two sons in a road rage incident . That is not my Idea of justice .

But to get back to my point over the calendar year Rick Perry has made an awful lot of statements that have ruffled the feathers of those that reside in that dirty town we call Washington DC . He has basically thumbed his nose at them and I say go brother !

Because I can hardly argue his point  when I am being Informed that if I do not buy medical Insurance from Nancy Pelosi I go to jail . Or that the Attorney General of my country has called us a nation of cowards . Or that everybody was so concerned with being politically correct that they had an army major on their radar , but were afraid to pursue It because the PC police would crucify them for profiling and subtle racism . In spite of the fact that he had 20 emails to an Islamic cleric who hates us ! I am sure Major Hasan was not giving Alwaki a psychological evaluation online ! And now we have 13 dead soldiers as a result .

Nope give me a guy like Rick Perry who does not strike me as a man who will tell you what you want to hear , he will tell you what you need to hear ! This is the type of straight talker I like ! This Is a guy who knows he is gonna take some heat and he does not care . And guess what ? Those are the qualities that make a real leader! A leader does not cut and run and try to make a deal with people he does not agree with . He sticks his neck out to the benefit of the people he leads ! And as I see it Rick Perry has these qualities .

Now would I want him for President ? I do not know . What I do know is that in my observance of this man over the past year I see the qualities in him that make me stand up and take notice ! Our officials in DC should follow his example , I have a feeling we as a nation would be a hell of alot better off .
