Riddick Goggles
71Vin Diesel's goggles from Pitch Black
One of the most memorable scenes in the movie PItch Black is the first time Vin Diesel's character, Riddick, takes off his goggles and reveals his Eyeshine, the surgical alteration he had done to improve his night vision. As the enhancement leaves his eyes highly sensitive to light, he wears a pair of welding goggles most of the time.
For fans of the movies, the Riddick goggles are something of a holy grail. There's never been an officially licensed version of them from Universal Studios and while there have occasionally been official prop goggles from the movies that have later gone up for sale, they have all been very expensive.
So the best bet for most Riddick fans is going to be either making your own goggles from scratch or adapting a pair of welding goggles or other types of goggles that already exist. For instance, some types of vintage motorcycle goggles may have the right look for what you have in mind.
To get a better idea of what the Riddick goggles look like up a close, I've included a short list of links to replica versions of the goggles that have been made by various artists.
And of course, one option is to buy a pair that someone else has already made. You can usually find at least a couple of auctions for Riddick goggles on Ebay.

Here's another really great looking pair of replica Riddick's goggles that a talented designer made. Nice close-up photos of what the goggles look like. - Riddick Goggles by ~random-soul on deviantART
Various artists have made their own versions of the Riddick prop goggles. Random Soul on DeviantArt has made some great pairs and occasionally sells them on Ebay if you are looking to buy some.
If you like the Riddick goggles, there are lots of other styles you might like. Check out my vintage steampunk goggles hub for more. Oh yeah, vintage ray guns are also awesome!

Vin Diesel is so HOT and one of the reasons this hub is one of my favorites, LOL. but back to the Riddick Goggles, I never knew that they were not officially licensed, but with those creative people who are good with their hands could like you said make their own goggles from scratch, the replica versons are amazing.

The Chronicles of Riddick was great. Vin Diesel did great in the two movies. I might need to shave my head in order to look good in the the sun goggles though.
