Ripped Open Life
57Sometimes...you just gotta rip.
So tonight I was riding along on my bike with my friend tonia, when suddenly my long, flowy (bedsheet like) dress got caught in the spokes of my pedals! Tonia just went on ahead for a bit and I was left on the street, tangled in the rugged jaws of my beach cruiser. What could I do? I could hardly get off the bike without my dress being violently pulled downward. Oh my. So, Tonia finally catches wind I'm not next to her anymore and comes to my aid. After a bit of tugging, pulling, and generally being in an awkward situation, we realize that the only way out of this pickle is to rip. So i started to rip, I pulled harder, I tugged-tugged-tugged. I finally became free, and was left with a gaping hole in the bottom of my dress. I realized that the best way to amend this was to just rip the entire bottom of my dress off- which i did in a surprisingly neat fashion. So, the point of this rambling is that the finished product actually turned into a new, and seemingly better version of the dress! Tonia was like...seriously, this is better. and I've had the dress for years, so it honestly felt sort of good to let GO of the old aspects of it. The short, free feeling of my new-again dress is liberating. And the lesson learned from the tale of the stuck dress is...that when you are stuck, sometimes you have to rip open your life and rearrange things a bit. For a while it may seem like a desparate, gaping hole has opened up-but with a few alterations you end up with a situation that is enjoyable and more fitting for the present moment. Sometimes you just gotta rip.

Soulfly,
Sometimes the most simple things make great subjects for a hub; you did exactly that, here! You have a way of "ripping right to the point!" I loved this. Welcome to HubPages, I noticed that you just joined. Hub is a great community for those who love to observe and write.
One little tip; Even though on paper a paragraph might not be divided into small chunks, for easier reading online, it's better to divide the piece into smaller paragraphs. I know that this goes against the grain for those of us, including you, who consider ourselves good writers, but it simply makes for easier reading online.
I'm looking forward to reading more of your work.
