Becoming a famous singer is really hard. But if you really want to I would start by going and trying out for American Idol. See if you will be able to get in there first and then you can start thinking about a singing career. The road to success in singing will not come easy for you, I will tell you that right now. You will need to show you hardest effort and you will need to do you best at your skills. You will also have to stretch your skills to the limit. I would explain that as, I will need to reach something in singing that you have never seen before in your self or never discovered.

Hey everyone, I too have some advice in becoming a singer. :)
Becoming a singer is one of my dreams, and I'm getting there. So, here is some words of advice: Get heard. Sing in talent shows, choir concerts, clubs, anywhere where people will hear you. Also, be careful not to sound like other singers. You want to be unique, have your own style. Try recording a demo, write some songs, and record them. That would give you a boost.
Just remember to have fun, don't let anything or anyone get in your way! :)

Hi everyone. I love singing, but sometimes if im put on the spot i dont want to sing. But im not just self concious about my voice, im just nervous to hear the feedback. there are so many ways to become a famous singer. all you have to do is be at the right place at the right time, plus you got to have the talent.

American idol is less about talent and more about entertainment. I tried out for American Idol a few years band and I sang my heart out, the other contestants around me gave a loud applause and I was not allowed on to the next stage of auditions. I was dumbfounded and one of the producers came over to me, told me I was a fantastic singer and definately had the talent to be on the show, but they were loking for something different that that time. Unacceptable.

Hello, I have an aunt that works in the music industry as a recording studio mixer, which means that I have learnt a lot from her. I would like all of you to THINK before you act like this. Most of you say that you want to be a singer because 'I LOVE SINGING' and 'I WANT TO BE FAMOUS' or 'SO AND SO INSPIRED ME AND I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE THEM'.
You're going to have quite a few problems.
- Income- Skill- Competition
So you think you're the only one who wants to do this? Nuh uh. Tens of thousands of other people want this opportunity as well, and I daresay that it is only the HARDEST WORKING people who will make it. Out of those thousands, only a hundred or less will make it as a singer, and maybe only ten as commercially successful ones. So unless you have the utmost confidence and RAW TALENT for it...it's not going to happen anytime soon. Even if you are of a young age, sitting around isn't going to make you famous. Doing karaoke in your room isn't going to make you famous. You have to get out there and do everything possible to spread your name (but only after you acquire the skill of singing, which can take many many years to perfect, so go get voice lessons).
Say that you do become famous. Okay, great. But do you know how much recording artists actually earn? After the deductions of album sales to producers, songwriters, studio, company...some are left with only 5% proceeds, even less. If you're going to consider this as a CAREER, not just something you 'love' (the love can disappear very soon when you're actually IN the business even if you liked it at first) you must be willing to stick in it and give even if you hate it. Once you enter entertainment, you belong to the PUBLIC and you have to deliver what WE want. You are basically selling your skill or talent for your company to use when you get signed to them, and most times you will have little choice in what to do.
Then after that, of course, is the skill level of singing that you have. There are many singers who rely on advertisement to get them famous (most Disney-related acts) and there are the indie labels become famous (think Gwen Stefani) through talent. Both groups have talent - if they're this famous they must've done SOMETHING right, but you have to decide which type you want to be. Rely on advertisements and endorsements and publicity? You will have no personal life. Can't go out with friends. No boy/girlfriends. Smoked before? Drunk before? Been sleeping around? All revealed. Rely on talent and you may get somewhere without people prying, but you will have little personal privacy. After all, you are a product, not a person, and you are selling yourself to the public.
So to sum this up, most of you really have not thought about this enough. Think twice before leaping.
well for me its not becaause of the fame that i want to be a famous singer. its all about talent and belief for yourself. i want to show not just my family but the whole world that i can sing and that i have talent and style. i want to win a grammy, i want to be noticed, i want everybody to listen to mii song and say wow i want to listen to that again. i keep trying and trying with a number of music groups and it never exceld. the groups such as D&M, MosBrowne, The Jets, and The Jewelz have never even tried. i am tired of just saying "lets get this done" or "come on lets write some lyrics" yea im tired of saying that. ive been asking so many people can they help but i cant depend on anybody at all. right now im in a music group called Dynasty" and its with mii 2 besties, lissette and camry, and we are soooo trying so bad!!!! we need help and the person that i think could fit best as our manager and choreographer is this girl named Tiara. fosho. im really hoping she could hellp us the best she can because we really need it. but im not going to stop dooing what i love and i just believe in myself so bad. watch youre going to see me on your television soon :)

If you want to a singer just practice,practice,practice and maybe just some singing lessons:). You should go to a place that does karakoe and that will help you get used to people watching you sing and perfom.

Singing is more then just liking and loving it people. Many people want to be singers but in the end they cannot do it because they cannot hardness enough emotions in their voice and songs. If you want to be singers you have to have every fibre of your body wanting it, and when you sing you do not sing some stupid song that your voice matches with... sing you. All these girls on here who are like 10 and 11 and 12 etc... you need to wait longer. Chances are your voice will change as you grow older. I am happy you want to follow your dreams so far but just be prepared it takes more then a pretty voice and pretty face.

Hey its me AGAIN (I'm the one who said, "I really enjoy singing"), and I have some advice 4 those of you who have feel a little frustrated.
1. stage fright
a. YOU ARE SCARED OF THE PEOPLE: Introduce yourself, tell a joke, or do something funny, magic tricks work like a charm, wear a dress if you're a guy( just kidding don't actually do that). But seriously, do something to relax the audience, but more importantly, do something that will help to relax you and make you feel comfortable on stage. Because when the audience sees that you are comfortable, they will relax and enjoy you more, no matter what you do.
b. YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU WILL DO WELL(Like forget the lyrics or something):
Here's the thing; You don't have to worry about messing up in front of a bunch of people. Think about it, all singers mess up. Elvis Presley forgot a few words here and there. Taylor Swift she's not perfect, Celine Dion, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Kelly Klarkson(or is it Clarkson?), Rianna, and Tim McGraw have all messed up... so don't worry YOU WON'T BE THE FIRST TO GET IT WRONG, AND YOU WON'T BE THE LAST!!
c. YOU MIGHT IMAGINE PRESENCE OF OTHERS WHO ARE BETTER THAN YOU, AND YOU FEEL LIKE THEY WILL JUDGE YOU: Don't worry about them. they are like shaddows that don't exist. what really matters is that you try your best and give it you all. What I do is say to myself is, "You know Katie, if they judge you and say they could have done better, they are just insecure, and jealous." Surround yourself with people who take you seriously and encourage you every step of the way. And if there is no one, find others at school or neighbors who have goals like yours. I have found that when I am supported, no one can take my confidence away.
If you still can't find anyone, you can ALWAYS talk to me. But to make it easy for me to spot you when you need to talk type what below then your question/comment/idea:
"KATIE...876...Help!!" or "KATIE HELP ME!!!" or something else that has my name, 'KATIE' in caps or 'HELP' in caps.

you know it's real discouraging when you go around telling everyone that they aren't going to make it? that just makes them feel bad. because anyone who puts enough work into it can potentially become famous. You don't know anything. and belive me, I DO!! Because I was someone who wanted to be a "known" singer. I play guitar and sing, and one day I was singing and playing guitar in my front yard at age 13, and this guy walks up and he looked like an average-joe kinda guy. he came up to me and my dad and told us that I had talent. so we got to talking and he offoered me a record deal from Big Machines, and I took it. now I have 3 records, going on 4. and Im 16 now. So you just keep your mouth shut and mind your own business. cuz dreams do come true and miracles can happen. you're probably just jealous cuz we can all sin and you can't.
