Robert Downey Jr. and Rahm Emanuel; A conspiracy?

Long lost brothers? A definite conspiracy.

Barack Obama, our new president elect. A man who has his wits about him and who knows exactly what to do (according to his campaign). He has everything figured out, even his soon-to-be cabinet. After winning the election, he announced just a few days later his pick for Chief of Staff, a distinguished position in the White House; Rahm Emanuel.

To be completely honest, I had no idea who that was. After some further research, I understood that he was a hard hitting politician who first sprang up under Clinton's administration. The classic "bad cop" to the White House. This, however, was not my prestigious reason for researching him. The prestigious reason for indulging myself in this man's history was his uncanny resemblance to Robert Downey Jr.

I have a certain fascination with celebrity look-a-likes. In fact, during my freshmen year of college I had what I considered to be the female version of Jimmy Fallon. Not everyone saw what I did, but there was most definitely a resemblance. I do not know how this can be, but in all my research I have only found one other person who has mentioned the Downey, Emanuel phenomena. They could nearly be twin brothers if you look from the correct angles.

This led me to further research regarding their backgrounds. Rahm Emanual is a jewish Israelite who is very involved in his heritage. Robert Downey Jr.'s mother is of German and Scottish descent, but his father is of Irish and (ding, ding, ding) JEWISH descent. So there lies the tie, and leads me to my bizarre observations. They are both men born within the same decade with similar looks. They both have some sort of Jewish background, and they were both raised in urban areas with both parents.

Doesn't it make you wonder?

If I get any more updates on the Rahm-Rob connection, I will be sure to update everyone.

For reading pleasure I have included picures of both Robert Downey Jr. and Rahm Emanuel, as well as my freshman professor and Jimmy Fallon. It is a strange hobby, but it makes me happy.

Coincidence? I think not!

I totally agree! it was the first thing I thought when I saw him. He even talks and has some of the same mannerisms too.

I have the same obsession with lookalikes (I saw a Mick Jones clone the other day), and couldn't quite put my finger on Rahm. He and Downey seem to have the same eyes at least, but I think he looks more like Fox sportscaster Thom Brennaman. Can't stand the guy and his super-announcer voice, but... he looks like him. Rham and Thom.

That is so funny, because I think that Rahm looks a bit more like Downey around the mouth area. I didn't know who Thom Brennaman was, but after looking at him I still think that Rahm looks more like Downey, although there are quite a few similarities between he and Thom. Still it is kind of strange that their names are Rham and Thom. Hmm, interesting . . . And I am glad to know that I am not the only one obsessed with lookalikes!

I could totally see the resemblance from the beginning too, but no-one in my circles see it.
