Robert Kiyosaki in Review
Robert Kiyosaki is best known for his “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” series of books. The series focuses on the differences in mindset between those who are ‘poor’ and those who are ‘rich’. The series have combined sales in excess of 26 million copies. He is also a businessma, entrepreneur and self-help guru.
‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ attacks schools for teaching students how to become employees or self-employed. Robert Kiyosaki believes that learning entrepreneurial skills or having an investor's mindset are critical to achieving financial independence. He makes an important distinction between someone who is self employed and someone who is a business owner. A self employed person still has a job, and must do work to earn an income, whereas a business owner owns a ‘money making system’.
As well as having written 18 books in the ‘Rich Dad’ series, Kiyosaki has also tried to get his message out to people through a series of Board Games called Cashflow 101.
‘Cashflow 101′ is designed as a game that teaches people the importance of developing passive income to escape a section of the game board called ‘The Rat Race’. The game seeks to teach basic financial concepts to people, and continues his philosophy that changing people’s way of thinking is key to changing their financial situation.
