The Robotic Quadruped from Hammacher Schlemmer is an autonomous crab like device that crawls around the home and sense any intruder movements and alert if detected. It costs $89.95.

The Robotic Quadruped electronic gadget, available from Hammacher Schlemmer, is an autonomous crab like device that can be used for intruder alerts and alarms at home for a low cost. The gadget has a set of low light LEDs and a sound sensor to help locate movements and gives an alarm if intruder is present.

The robot can operate autonomously, using integrated sensors to scan for and react to moving objects and to determine in which direction and how quickly it moves, and the robot's levels of awareness, aggression, and activity can be set to low, medium, or high, allowing manipulation of its scanning activity, interactive capabilities, and "personality."

The robot is able to move forward and backwards easily and each of the four legs can rotate or swivel 360 allowing diverse change of direction and movements. The head with LED’s light mounted on the robot is able to pan and tilts and scan the surroundings. The device can be remote controlled also.

It has two sensors LED lights, which work well under darker environments and sound sensors able to detect any sudden disturbance and move quickly towards the disturbance and gives an alert.

The robot requires four C batteries and remote uses three AAA batteries.

Sounds like a good investment for homes without an alarm system. Hope they add another feature to this bite the intruders.
