I am a thirty-something male living in Philadelphia. It has a decent single scene but its lacking in some areas. I have tried to meet women in the bars, and for the most part had success. But the bar scene can get old and tiring. Being single IS difficult and its a challenge to met someone somewhat normal. I can't even remember how many dates I have had in the past two years. Then several months ago a good friend recommended that I try jdate.com. He said that he knew people who met, had long term relationships that even turned to marriage! At first I was reluctant to try Internet dating but what the hell, I had nothing to lose but $30 dollars. Jdate is a dating site for Jewish professionals. I am Jewish but I DO NOT date many Jewish girls. In fact, most of my long term relationships have been with non-Jews. Anyway, I ventured out on a couple of dates-they went well but nothing to scream about. Honestly, most of the girls did not even look like their pix. Then on a cold wintry night I met a girl named Robyn. We met at my favorite martini bar for tapas and chocolate martinis. Robyn was very attractive, she had a cute tight little body, and was about 5'5 tall with long brown hair and hazel eyes.

The chemistry was instant. We laughed and talked and drank for what seemed for hours. The conversation turned to sex, (which is one of my favorite topics). She asked me what my favorite position was when having sex, and I told her that I like the girl on top as well as having it sideways. She immediately said that her favorite was anal. I was surprised by her statement and then she asked if I had ever done it, and I said no. It just isn't my thing. I admit I was a bit embarrassed for her, but the conversation continued, then it shifted to music, another one of my favorite topics. She asked me what type of music I listened to and I told her that I was a product of the 80's and that some of the music that I still liked was some heavy metal, classic rock and old school rap.

Her eyes lit up like candles when I mentioned rap. Robyn excitedly asked me if she could bust out a "rhyme." I thought she was joking but I said sure go ahead. She immediately belted out a "rhyme" so loud that the next table could hear her. I was mortified! I just wanted to go home and forget about her and her rhymes. I soon ended the date and I walked home alone. I was unsure if what I experienced was real. I wasn't drunk just buzzed. Needless to say there was no second date. I erased her number from my Rolodex the first chance that I could. After a few more sub par dates, I ended my membership with JDate. I realized maybe the bar scene isn't so bad. But to this day I will never forget Robyn-My JDate Nightmare.
