Rock Cairns of Halibut Point State Park, Rockport, MA
59My husband and I loved walking around all the different locations on Cape Ann. Living in Rockport, MA provided us wtih opportunities to hike and walk and climb boulders to catch views and sight that held us in awe. Halibut Point State Park is the furtherest point north you can go in Rockport before the road outside the park bends back arount to Gloucester. It's a magical place rich in history. The views are incredible. The walk around the quarry is peaceful. But it was the stoneman and the rock cairns that held my attention. I've included a few photos of the rock cairns plus the link to two sights for anyone who may want to plan a trip. I encourage it whether it be summer or winter.

My Son started this area.. back in 2005. We live down the road from Halibut Park and had gone there for Homeschooling 'creative writing' time.. Tim began to stack rocks, his brother joined in..they gathered more rocks and stacked them each time we went... then others added to it.. I have first rock cairn photos somewhere in my computer...
