Good news: you don't have to be a «lady» to appreciate the beauty of the Rolex Lady Datejust collection.

As a matter of fact, Sylvester Stallone - hardly a lady -- is seen holding a woman's Datejust model with a diamond bezel in "Rocky II". While I, likewise, am not a member of the feminine persuasion, I still rather like the elegance of this timeless classic Rolex watch.

The breadth of the line

One of Rolex's most versatile lines, Lady Datejust offers an extensive collection of superbly crafted women's wristwatches for all tastes and style preferences. They are smaller than the men's models - 26 mm dial as compared to 31 mm or 36 mm - but no less spectacular.

When I say the collection is "extensive," I mean it. Currently over 20 models are available with a variety of dials, bezels, bracelets, and the choice of steel, platinum, Rolesor, or 18-carat white, yellow and pink gold.

Let's say you want a truly opulent watch. Look no further than a sparkling yellow-gold model with a diamond-paved dial, as well as the case and Oyster bracelet set with brilliants. A similar watch is available in white gold, with blue, rather than black, Roman numerals.

You will like this model if your taste runs toward the truly ostentatious. Those who favour a more subdued look with just a touch of whimsy, might enjoy another Lady Datejust watch featuring a pink "goldust" dial set with two diamonds, a domed bezel, and a steel-and-pink gold Oyster bracelet.

If, however, you believe, as I do, that "less is more," a much simpler platinum model with an ice-blue dial, a domed bezel, and a President bracelet might strike your fancy.

Of course, if you need a Rolex watch that is robust and sturdy, one of the sport models - the Rolex Explorer, for example -- would be a better choice. For a submersible watch, the Sea-Dweller or the Submariner would fit the bill.

But if you want a truly dazzling look, take it from Rocky - Rolex's Lady Datejust collection is a knockout! (forgive the pun)

I found a square shaped Rolex watch for ladies with mechanical movement which was engraved A.D in its back lid. I want to know when the Rolex was manufactured and how much anount of money was paid for the watch, then. And I want to know where was the watch sold, too.
