romantic things to do for your boyfriend

I would like to reply to your hub by letting you know on some of the things i've done for my boyfriend. Me and my boyfriend have been together for 6 years now and sadly i can only remember only a handful of things that really made him glow (as far as "gifts" goes), so i hope to share with you those few moments:

  • This one may not seem so original, but it worked. Hiding his birthday gift under his bed/ pillow or somewhere in his room where you know he will find out the next morning (of course you must hide them the day BEFORE his birthday)
  • If you are a musician you may want to make him a CD or if you are old-fashioned like me, a mix-tape. I've literally stuck a microphone inside my piano to record a few songs on a tape recorder and he said that is still the best gift he remembers. Of course if you can't play an instrument, you can record a sweet poetry or a letter simply letting him know how much he means to you
  • Ok this one MAY be original, i wonder if anyone else has tried this before...? On HIS birthday, tell him to send a gift to his MOTHER, letting her know how much you love her on your birthday. By indirectly making his mother melt, you will see how happy he becomes in return!

Ok... while i think of couple more really romantic things that i've done for my boy, i would like to take a minute to just say that although home cooked dinners, taking him to events etc. is nice, in the long run, i've found that it's not THAT memorable. At the time it is, but in the long run, best to be creative and be original. The more personal it is, the better! Ok back to it then:

  • When we were on a long distance relationship, i've flown over on a 32 hours flight to see him for his birthday as a suprise. If you plan ahead, this is probably one of the best things you could do- literally deliever yourself at needy times! And i'm sure we all know how hard a long distance relationship can be!
  • Get wasted: Ok not the most romantic and healthy way to end this hub but...if you're like me you can't remember the last time you were "drunk". For a special day (usually i go for birthdays, anniversaries or holiday seasons), pick a weekend to get away from the city. I took him to a motel 3 hours away from the CBD- whipped out the "alcohol" and had one of the most memorable nights of my life. Of course he remembers this night too as i've stepped out of my box to please him and be a bit naughty.

Ok that's my contribution, hope it helped!

House of Juliet...how much more romantic can you get?

The most important thing about having a romantic date with your partner is to put other concerns aside and enjoy being with each other. You don't have to spend a fortune.

Hi Deserie, I've found personalised gifts most memorable for both parties- I say this because i'm sure you've already thought of taking him out to dinner! You could compile a photo-album consisting of your happy treasured times like OE or graduation etc. And write little messages to go with each page- it takes a bit of time but you'll enjoy making it too! If you two have some time off you could also go on a small trip to a spa or get close to nature.

If all else fails and you really want to take him out, how about getting a nice hotel room and feeling like VIP again? :P

Let me know how it goes!!

thanks for the comment too

love Christy
