I cannot get into a bed that is unmade, it is one of my pet peeves, and I can't stand having a dirty bedroom, I also like to have a certain "romace" as far as my bed is concerned, pillows fluffed, the whole nine yards. In my experience, there are a couple of things you can do to spice things up in the bedroom. One is keeping a neat bed, keeping it neat and made up makes it that much more inviting. The other is having the right kind of decor for your bed and your bedroom, it is your bed, it should be fitting to your style. I don't think any of this is necessarily essential to a man, as they can be comfortable anywhere, but ladies, it will definitely spice things up and make you feel sexier in your own bedroom.

Making the bed, with the right sheets, is the first step in toward a romantic bed. This is all dependant on your comfort level.. Some people really like silk sheets, for instance, whereas others do not. A higher thread count is something to look for when going for a particular feel against your skin, the higher the count the more pleasant to the skin. Be warned though, the higher the thread count, the warmer the sheets can get at night. So unless you like it cold in your home at night, think about that. Or if you live in a warmer climate, such as Houston, TX, my home city, the thread count may not even play into this scenario. Never be afraid to open a set of sheets at the store. Sheets are important for your comfort and your style. Make sure you know what you like before purchasing a set.

The next step, after you have picked your perfect sheets, is to pick out your bedspread. This can be a little trickier than picking just sheets, as your bedspread is a visual aid into your personality, it's also the first thing people see when they walk into your bedroom. You may also want to stick to the romantic theme. I find that a down feather duvet is particularly nice to sink into after a long day, or if you're rolling around in the sheets with your partner. Here again, you may want to go with a silk duvet cover, if that is your preference. Solid colors are nice but having a design or a theme can add to the ambiance of your bedroom. Another thing to keep in mind, duvet's can be very warm, so again in may not be realistic to have one in climates such as Texas, unless you pull it out for the winter months or like it arctic in your house at bedtime.

Now that you have everything, you are ready to make your bedroom into your kingdom. Get some matching throw pillows for extra decoration. When you make your bed, make sure that your sheets and comfortor are clean and smell fresh, always wash your sheets before you put them on the bed for the first time. Do not let anything touch the floor, as it's considered bad juju. How you go about actually making your bed is entirely up to you. Some people put part of the covers down, some don't. It comes down to whatever fits your fancy or fantasy. Make sure the sheets are pulled nice and tight and tucked under properly for a more comfortable nights sleep. In the morning though, it really doesn't matter how you made your bed as long as you were comfortable and had fun in it.
