What about adopting a rottie? Some people want to do this but are scared because they think that it is difficult to manage an adult rottweiler.
Usually their concerns are how to handle a timid, nervous or extremely scared rottie who has previously been abused by the owners who then abandoned him.
But who would abandon a rottie? Unfortunately a lot of people.
It could be because of space problems or in general just getting tired of the commitment and responsability.
As the movie "Fight Club" said: "people love things with intensity for a limited amount of time". The sentence goes on explaining how Christmas threes get dumped after the holiday and how grown puppies get left behind by stupid owners.
Ok, but this wasn´t the original question was it?
Let´s deal with how to handle an adopted rottie:
First you need to get him used to his new home and showing him that you are his friend and that he can trust you.
Now you don´t do this by giving treats and by spoiling him right away, let him get used to you little by little. Take long walks and talk to him during these walks (rotties love this).
At night let him sleep (if you can...) in your bedroom but not on your bed....
Trough affection and dedication your adopted rottie will soon create that special bond with you and be your best friend. But don´t push it too hard, be pacient, let him take his time.
Only when this special bond with human beeings is reactivated, then you can start training your rottie.
