(4800) Energy Dog Food
Sheepdogs, hunting dogs, sled dogs, emergency rescue dogs and greyhounds combine physical strength with strength of character and are unequalled athletes among Medium-sized dogs. To meet each of their high-energy requirements a precise nutrional program is essential! To ensure good performance when required to make physical effort, a dog needs energy sources suited to the different types of activity. Royal Canin understands that dogs' nutritional needs differ according to size, age and activity level. We are committed to providing your dog a food that meets its specific nutritional requirements. Some dogs are intensely active and work under extreme conditions (cold, hot, rough ground, altitude etc...). Such long difficult effort requires a suitable diet to ensure the dog's performance and endurance.
Important Information:
As a general rule, the longer the effort, the more energy intake is needed (+10% per hour of activity). As for a human athlete, effort represents a stress for the dog which is both physical and phychological. If the quality of food (and training) is inadequate, the dog will be more likely to develop cramp, or hypoglycemia and its recovery will be slower.

Anytime I see a Class Action filed against a company and the products the company produces I would not advise feeding their products to your pets. The pet owners have filed a Class Action against the company for killing their pets.
I don't like to see anything stating natural chicken flavor, this usually means the company has used manure for flavoring.
Corn gluten meal and ground corn are a cheap filler used by pet food companies to reduce production costs. Gluten is a super concentrated mix as is meal. So the corn is this batch is actually at least 5 times the amount listed.
We should probably take time out from this review to remind ourselves of the good and bad effects of corn in a cat or dog's diet. *Corn, wheat and soy are resonsible for fever, ear aches, ear infections, bad bread, dental disease, hair loss, dry and itchy skin, bloat, tumors, warts, moles, abnormal nail growth, arthritis, deafness, blindness, digestive problems, siezures, inflamed liver, inflamed kidneys, bladder problems, heart problems, and death. Oh yeah, for the good effects of corn - reduces the cost of pet food production.
Brewer's rice and brewer's dried yeast are by-products of beer production. There you go, you pet gets what's left over after a beer run, the stuff not fit for human consumption.
Beet pulp is another cheap filler used by pet food companies. "Beet Pulp" sounds good, doesn't it? Well it's not. Just because Grandma told us we had to eat our beets as kids doesn't mean it is good for our dogs. Grandma didn't take the nutrients out of the beet and leave us just the dried fiber to eat, did she? Junk, that is all beet pulp is.
How about just some old rice hulls with your dinner? You wouldn't eat rice hulls, would you? Why on earth would we feed some discarded trash to our pets? - Susan Peters
