Ruhpolding lies in the Traunstein district which is in south-east of Bavaria, Germany. It is part of Chiemgau in the Alps. A small village with 6,400 people well known for winter sport and summer holidays. From there you csn reach many of the famous castle and palaces of King Ludwig.
You reach it from Munich by train or Salzburg.
Since 1945 a famous spa, tourist centrum, especially winter as well summer. There are 5,500 beds available.
It is famous for triathlon track and the Biathlon World-cup was held there many a times. You also find great skiing, skating, sledging, snowboarding and cross country skiing facilities. A Ice-sport-hall and horse drawn sledges will stop you from being bored. First-class down hill slopes for skiers, snowboarders and ski lifts are available.
