Project Runway

I havent seen prior episodes of Project Runway but I have to admit that this Season is great.  I cant believe that there is a lot of competition between the designers.

It's great to see that there are a lot of different personalities-Epperson is reserved and artistic; Christopher is emotional and outgoing; Althea is intelligent and creative, etc.

Most of the dresses on the show are spectacular; there was this white dress with the floral neckline that was amazing and another one that was dyed a bronze color; that was cool as well.

I couldn't believe the animosity between Johnny and Nicolas towards the end of the show where Nicolas told Heidi about Johnny's hideous work and he shouts out, Yeah, just throw me under the bus, Jerk!  I was stunned at that; a little humourous moment, yet intense at the same time.

I felt bad that Johnny had an addict problem; nobody is perfect and Tim Gunn was very supportive towards him when Johhny needed a shoulder to cry on.  And perhaps designer was a way for Johnny to express himself in his work.

Nicolas seemed very judgmental and cocky towards others' work; Nicolas was spared immunity when he was paired off with Louise.  He was upset when she used ruffles in her dresses.  The judges were not impressed at all and ripped her apart on the stage.  One judge said that if she were in Macy's and saw that dress, she would walk right out of there.

I felt Louise needed to put a little more effort into her designs and that cost her in the end.  Nicolas was dangling by a thread; he could have easily been eliminated by the judges, but oh, what a great thing in Immunity....

Christopher seemed to take great pride in his work, his work over time was not up to par; and for the Blue challenge, the judges shot him done; saying that his dresses did not match and were of poor quality.  His crying on stage was very heartfelt and believable; I really did feel that Christopher was making a big effort in his work.

I was suprised in the last episode, October 9th, Christopher designed a blue fluffed up dress that had a ton of creases in it; the judges did not like this dress at all and I thought that he would get eliminated in the end; but he was spared.

I felt bad for Shirin when she had to redesign a wedding dress for her model; the white dress was very minimal; there was hardly any material to it; so Shirin had a very difficult time amending the dress; the model was not being realistic at all in her dress modifications; she wanted feathers in her hair and to look like Cher; Ugh, Please, get real.  But Shirin really pulled off the new dress but incorporation stitches into the white dress, so that it had a nice serpentine pattern.  The judges loved it; Patience is truly a virtue.  You go girl!

I really feel that the judges are kindhearted and they only want the best for their designers.  But the designers are forced to put out a great product on a deadline that would make any designer just pull out their hair and drink gallon after glass after glass of wine just to cope with the constant stress.

But when it comes to fame and fortune, these attributes come with a hefty price tag and it all comes down to performance.  I really like the different themes that are incorporated through the episodes; the newspaper dresses were a really neat concept; the revamping of the new Wedding dresses; the Blue themed dresses for the Macy line (I thought it was cool that the winner of the dress making would have their own dress in the stores, COOL).

I give Kudos to all of the designers; personally I couldnt make a dress if my life counted on it; I barely got by in Home Ec class; My mother did all of my sewing projects for me and baked the Cinammon Rolls to win over the Home Ec teacher; I ended up with an A in the course and I was happy about that.  If only Heidi and Tim Gunn could see my designs now; they would say; You are definitely ONE HOT MESS!  LOL

Hope you enjoyed this Hub; until next time; Ta Ta! :)

Johnny cries on Tim Gunn's shoulder How sweet!
