There's no need for additional pressure, and a long journey is all about pressure.

Then you'll have to be prepared to welcome your kitten: buy everything that's necessary, so you don't have to run that day after all sort of items such as litter, tray, food, toys or scratching post. If you're prepared in advance, it will be easier for both you and the kitten.
