  • Try using lemon juice and water. Simply mix the two of the same amount and you will have your very own home made rust removal product. Apply the mixture on the rusted spot and let it sit there for about 30 minutes. Then, simply wash your clothing.
  • Use cream of tartar as your rust remover. Rub it into the stain and then wash the clothing in hot soapy water. An alternative process is to boil the garment with 4 tablespoon cream of tartar to every 1 pint of water.
  • Salt and cream of tartar can also be combined to produce a natural rust removal product. Mix the two using an equal amount and spread it on the garment. Dry the clothing under the sun and if the stain is removed, wash it. If otherwise, repeat the process.
