S-03 - Apostolic Anointing for Reformation
75APOSTOLIC REFORMATION ANOINTING
The Apostolic is at the foundational level a fathering anointing without gender, it can be male or female. It is a parenting anointing - a nurturing anointing in the body of Christ.
It has the capacity to go into uncharted territory and produce something where nothing was there.
Before God gives us something to do He gives us a pattern and we build out of the pattern. Moses did not build a tabernacle until God gave him a pattern for the tabernacle. The pattern became something that he would build that God would do something else with.
Looking back over the last year I believe that God has given this house a pattern.
This pattern is that of Acts 2:42-46
(Act 2:42) And they steadfastly persevered, devoting themselves constantly to the instruction and fellowship of the apostles, to the breaking of bread [including the Lord's Supper] and prayers.
(Act 2:43) And a sense of awe (reverential fear) came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were performed through the apostles (the special messengers).
(Act 2:44) And all who believed (who adhered to and trusted in and relied on Jesus Christ) were united and [together] they had everything in common;
(Act 2:45) And they sold their possessions (both their landed property and their movable goods) and distributed the price among all, according as any had need.
(Act 2:46) And day after day they regularly assembled in the temple with united purpose, and in their homes they broke bread [including the Lord's Supper]. They partook of their food with gladness and simplicity and generous hearts,
Part of the apostolic is to bring development out of people. Raised out of the stones God will raise up people. Jesus said God is able to raise children from the stones under Abraham. If you take people that have nothing, shake them, put something in them - God will raise them up and they will forever be connected to your ministry.
Lets take a moment and look at the life of Joseph and the impact of this fathering anointing that were manifested in his life:
Genesis 48.
When Joseph went to Egypt, he had two children - the first one was Manasseh, which means forgetful.
Gen 48:1-22
(1) SOME TIME after these things occurred, someone told Joseph, Behold, your father is sick. And he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim [and went to Goshen].
(4) And said to me, Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make you a multitude of people and will give this land to your descendants after you as an everlasting possession. [Gen. 28:13-22; 35:6-15.]
(5) And now your two sons, [Ephraim and Manasseh], who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, are mine. [I am adopting them, and now] as Reuben and Simeon, [they] shall be mine.
Joseph had the child names Manasseh, because he had caused him to forget the trouble of his father's house. The next child was Ephraim, which means thou has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction. Even in the midst of his trouble he became forgetful and then fruitful. This was the order that he lived his life in. Now his father, Jacob comes to him in Egypt to bless his children.
Gen 48:20
And he blessed them that day, saying, By you shall Israel bless [one another], saying, May God make you like Ephraim and like Manasseh. And he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
He lived his life this way: I have to forget all my trouble and then I can become fruitful. This is the way a person lives their life without fathering anointing. Because he was separated from an apostolic father he spent his life trying to forget the past hoping to become fruitful.
But when his father came into the scene he reversed the order and he set Ephraim before Manasseh and he said this is how you shall bless Israel. The Lord makes you as Ephraim and Manasseh and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
A person without fathering anointing spends their life trying to recover from their past so that they can become fruitful. But when the fathering anointing comes he says I am going to make you fruitful and it will cause you to forget your past.
The purpose of the fathering anointing is to reverse the order that hinders you from becoming fruitful. It keeps you from being productive because you say when I get all of my stuff together then I am going to become fruitful, but the fathering anointing says we are going to make you fruitful and you are going to outgrow some of the stuff that's holding on to you right now. We have to have the power of that spoken word over our lives. Now you will understand even more the importance of standing in a father and son relationship in this season.
Jacob is ready to die and calls all his sons around him so that he can tell them what shall befall them in the last days.
Gen 49:1-33
(1) AND JACOB called for his sons and said, Gather yourselves together [around me], that I may tell you what shall befall you in the latter or last days.
(2) Gather yourselves together and hear, you sons of Jacob; and hearken to Israel your father.
(3) Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, the beginning (the firstfruits) of my manly strength and vigor; [your birthright gave you] the preeminence in dignity and the preeminence in power.
(4) But unstable and boiling over like water, you shall not excel and have the preeminence [of the firstborn], because you went to your father's bed; you defiled it--he went to my couch! [Gen. 35:22.]
(5) Simeon and Levi are brothers [equally headstrong, deceitful, vindictive, and cruel]; their swords are weapons of violence. [Gen. 34:25-29.]
(6) O my soul, come not into their secret council; unto their assembly let not my honor be united [for I knew nothing of their plot], because in their anger they slew men [an honored man, Shechem, and the Shechemites], and in their self-will they disabled oxen.
(7) Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce, and their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.
(8) Judah, you are the one whom your brothers shall praise; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father's sons shall bow down to you.
(9) Judah, a lion's cub! With the prey, my son, you have gone high up [the mountain]. He stooped down, he crouched like a lion, and like a lioness--who dares provoke and rouse him? [Rev. 5:5.]
(10) The scepter or leadership shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until Shiloh [the Messiah, the Peaceful One] comes to Whom it belongs, and to Him shall be the obedience of the people. [Num. 24:17; Ps. 60:7.]
(11) Binding His foal to the vine and His donkey's colt to the choice vine, He washes His garments in wine and His clothes in the blood of grapes. [Isa. 63:1-3; Zech. 9:9; Rev. 19:11-16.]
(12) His eyes are darker and more sparkling than wine, and His teeth whiter than milk.
(13) Zebulun shall live toward the seashore, and he shall be a haven and a landing place for ships; and his border shall be toward Sidon.
(14) Issachar is a strong-boned donkey crouching down between the sheepfolds.
(15) And he saw that rest was good and that the land was pleasant; and he bowed his shoulder to bear [his burdens] and became a servant to tribute [subjected to forced labor].
(16) Dan shall judge his people as one of the tribes of Israel.
(17) Dan shall be a serpent by the way, a horned snake in the path, that bites at the horse's heels, so that his rider falls backward.
(18) I wait for Your salvation, O Lord.
(19) Gad--a raiding troop shall raid him, but he shall raid at their heels and assault them [victoriously].
(20) Asher's food [supply] shall be rich and fat, and he shall yield and deliver royal delights.
(21) Naphtali is a hind let loose which yields lovely fawns.
(22) Joseph is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a well (spring or fountain), whose branches run over the wall.
(23) Skilled archers have bitterly attacked and sorely worried him; they have shot at him and persecuted him.
(24) But his bow remained strong and steady and rested in the Strength that does not fail him, for the arms of his hands were made strong and active by the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob, by the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, [Gen. 48:15; Deut. 32:4; Isa. 9:6; 49:26.]
(25) By the God of your father, Who will help you, and by the Almighty, Who will bless you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings lying in the deep beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
(26) The blessings of your father [on you] are greater than the blessings of my forefathers [Abraham and Isaac on me] and are as lasting as the bounties of the eternal hills; they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him who was the consecrated one and the one separated from his brethren and [the one who] is prince among them.
(27) Benjamin is a ravenous wolf, in the morning devouring the prey and at night dividing the spoil.
(28) All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them as he blessed them, blessing each one according to the blessing suited to him.
(29) He charged them and said to them, I am to be gathered to my [departed] people; bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
(30) In the cave in the field at Machpelah, east of Mamre in the land of Canaan, that Abraham bought, along with the field of Ephron the Hittite, to possess as a cemetery. [Gen. 23:17-20.]
(31) There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife, there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife, and there I buried Leah.
(32) The purchase of the field and the cave that is in it was from the sons of Heth.
(33) When Jacob had finished commanding his sons, he drew his feet up into the bed and breathed his last and was gathered to his [departed] people.
Gen 49:1 AND JACOB called for his sons and said, Gather yourselves together [around me], that I may tell you what shall befall you in the latter or last days.
Gen 49:2 Gather yourselves together and hear, you sons of Jacob; and hearken to Israel your father.
It is the same power that he used over Ephraim and Manasseh to switch the order and the tradition of what was supposed to happen first. Because he was the father he had the power to reverse the order of the way that things should function.
So when Jacob comes to the end of his life he knows as an apostolic father he has the power to decree a thing and it will be. So he gathers his sons together - this is a prophetic picture. Whenever we gather ourselves together we should expect to hear the voice of the father telling us what shall befall us in the last days. So Jacob begins to go through his sons and telling them about 12 end-time words - I may tell you what shall befall you in the latter or last days.
•1. REUBEN - UNSTABLE
Gen 49:3 Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, the beginning (the firstfruits) of my manly strength and vigour; [your birthright gave you] the pre-eminence in dignity and the pre-eminence in power.
Gen 49:4 But unstable and boiling over like water, you shall not excel and have the pre-eminence [of the firstborn], because you went to your father's bed; you defiled it--he went to my couch!
Reuben you are as unstable as water - the first is a word of warning - to be in the end-time flow of God, to have all the gifts, to have all the talent, to have all the ability, but not to excel because you become unstable. The curse of instability means that you can have gifts and talents and abilities, but not excel, because of instability.
•2. SIMEON AND LEVI - SELF-WILL & ANGER:
Gen 49:5 Simeon and Levi are brothers [equally headstrong, deceitful, vindictive, and cruel]; their swords are weapons of violence.
Gen 49:6 O my soul, come not into their secret council; unto their assembly let not my honor be united [for I knew nothing of their plot], because in their anger they slew men [an honored man, Shechem, and the Shechemites], and in their self-will they disabled oxen.
Gen 49:7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce, and their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.
The second and third, Simeon and Levi, is also words of warning. They are instruments of cruelty for in their anger they killed a man and in their self-will they tore down a wall. Come not into their assembly.
So the first three words to the end-time people are words of warning - Reuben unstable; you have to resist instability; and then Simeon and Levi; who are self-will and anger.
It is possible to miss the move of God because of self-will, which is the cousin of rebellion and anger. The Bible says be not united with them neither come into their assembly. How many churches have been started out of self-will and anger, which is not a foundation to build a church? You become angry with one person you take ten or fifteen people across town and build another church and the foundation is anger. The Bible says be not united with them and God say He will scatter them and I will divide them. There is no ability to build a united church and a unified people if the foundation of your ministry is anger at somebody else.
Self-will - people who are supposed to be deacons and elders in someone else's church decided because of their self-will that they are just going to go and start their own church. Therefore they have no capacity to build a governing centre.
Now the next word is becoming positive!
•3. JUDAH - PRAISE
Gen 49:8 Judah, you are the one whom your brothers shall praise; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father's sons shall bow down to you.
Judah is an end-time anointing for praise. Praise has got nothing to do with music. Music can be described as the vehicle that praise rides to get to where it is going. Judah is an end-time anointing for praise. We have to understand the purpose of praise. Judah's hand will be on the neck of his enemies. If you tap into an anointing for praise then in the midst of the people of God, praise goes like a hand against the neck of the enemy cutting off the air supply of the enemy. Therefore Satan has no power over the church because before we stand to preach, praise has shut him down!
Gen 49:9
Judah, a lion's cub! With the prey, my son, you have gone high up [the mountain]. He stooped down, he crouched like a lion, and like a lioness--who dares provoke and rouse him?
Praise can be likened to the image of a lion cub. When you see a sleeping lion you don't want to wake him up. You just want to leave him alone. You don't want to go and find a lion and go over and poke him in the ribs and tell him to wake up, because when he wakes up he is going to come up strong, aggressive and violent.
This end-time anointing for praise is to be like that lion where the devil says do not mess with those people. Leave those people alone because if you wake them up they come out and there comes a roar and praise out of Zion. There is also the sceptre of leadership and the new wine.
Gen 49:10
The scepter or leadership shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until Shiloh [the Messiah, the Peaceful One] comes to Whom it belongs, and to Him shall be the obedience of the people.
Gen 49:11 Binding His foal to the vine and His donkey's colt to the choice vine, He washes His garments in wine and His clothes in the blood of grapes.
Gen 49:12 His eyes are darker and more sparkling than wine, and His teeth whiter than milk.
Again looking at this picture I see the elements of the Kingdom of God wrt leadership, father and son relationship for dominion reflected.
•4. ZEBULUN - HAVEN
Gen 49:13 Zebulun shall live toward the seashore, and he shall be a haven and a landing place for ships; and his border shall be toward Sidon.
Zebulun is an end-time anointing for people who are in transitional seasons of their lives. Zebulun is a haven for ships that are at sea. They are a dock for people who are in a season of learning - to dock in to get their education and learn until they go back to sailing the seas of life. Or people are in the church because their job has moved them there for a season - they are not here forever for they are in transition. We have to have a Zebulun anointing to provide shelter for them during the turbulent seas of life.
•5. ISSACHAR - PROPHETIC BURDEN BEARER
Gen 49:14
Issachar is a strong-boned donkey crouching down between the sheepfolds.
Gen 49:15
And he saw that rest was good and that the land was pleasant; and he bowed his shoulder to bear [his burdens] and became a servant to tribute [subjected to forced labor].
Issachar is a prophetic anointing. So the church should have a prophetic anointing. The church must have the capacity to have a prophetic anointing and be like Issachar who is as a strong burden bearer down between two burdens.
Two burdens - that which was and that which is not yet. The prophetic finds itself in the now between what was and what shall be. Therefore, Issachar, has to have an anointing to bear two burdens. He has to be able to handle those who have been a part of what was, while he is developing those who will be a part of what shall be. I truly believe that as a household of faith that this anointing is very much part of this household. I see the Word school of Wednesdays that we conduct as being the vehicle or the donkey that are bearing the load.
Because Issachar finds himself between two burdens he becomes a servant unto tribute. Thus, you are not prophetic just because you can declare what is coming. The sons of the prophets knew that Elijah was to be taken from Elisha. Just because you know what is coming does not make you a prophet. There is more. As Elijah you have to labor towards the fulfilment of that prophetic word.
If you have a true prophetic anointing, when you see that something is coming you become a servant unto tribute. This means you get up under the burden that is coming and you carry that thing until you make it help happen. If you are not willing to get up under the burden that you are speaking about then be quiet and do not prophecy. With that word comes the responsibility to labor and give birth to that what is coming.
The question then this morning to all of us is if we are wiling and ready to become burden bearers to help make this thing happen. To what extent are you willing to sacrifice yourself and your resources to establish Issachar in this Household of Faith.
•6. DAN - DISCERNMENT & JUDGEMENT
Gen 49:16 Dan shall judge his people as one of the tribes of Israel.
Gen 49:17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, a horned snake in the path, that bites at the horse's heels, so that his rider falls backward.
Gen 49:18 I wait for Your salvation, O Lord.
Dan is the end-time anointing to judge. Not to judge people or sit in judgment of people, but to discern and judge things. Discernment or judgment can be defined as the ability to look at something and judge it. Dan is an end-time anointing for judgment; to be able to judge a thing; to be able to determine wether what is moving through the kingdom is proper or not proper.
From time to time there are interesting doctrines, moves and manifestations that can travel through the body and sometimes they gain momentum because there are no apostolic fathers with an anointing to judge a thing as being of God or not of God.
The Bible gives us the picture that the anointing of Dan is like a serpent laying in the path that the rider comes through on a horse, bites the heels and throws the rider backwards. In the Bible doctrines are sometimes symbolically symbolised through horses. It is a symbol not a real horse. A white horse speaks of purity and truth. The horse becomes symbolic of doctrines. Sometimes people get on a horse and get carried away with it. They take it too far and it takes them off course. I believe that this is exactly what is happening currently within TTN. The concept of Father and Son and the Set Man has been taken to a level where it replaces God and this is not accurate. That is one of the reason Gos has used us as a house to bring that alignment.
The anointing of Dan is like a serpent waiting in the path so when you come down the road with the crazy doctrine, the anointing for Dan bites it and the horse throws the rider back to where he should have been rather than allowing him to get carried away with it. The body of Christ is waiting for salvation - waiting for those who have an anointing for those who know how to address an issue without becoming personally competitive, also understanding how to bring people into balance.
•7. GAD - BOUNCE-BACK ANOINTING
Gen 49:19 Gad--a raiding troop shall raid him, but he shall raid at their heels and assault them [victoriously].
Gad is the bounce-back anointing. That is an anointing when you have been hit by the enemy and you feel that you have been overcome, that you shall overcome at the last. It's an anointing that says I have been knocked down, but I have not been knocked out. I have taken a few hits, but it is not over until God says it is over and it is not over until I win. Gad is the bounce back anointing - a troop shall overcome him, but he shall overcome at the last. If you want to build a church you to have to have a bounce-back anointing, because you are going to take a few hits along the way.
This is very much part of our Household. We have bounced back and are busy growing to accomplish that which God has called and destined us to be. What is there in your life at the moment what has thrown you back? God spoke to me and said to me that there are some of you sitting here this morning whom life has thrown hard. The Lord is speaking to you this morning and telling you that the time has come for you to bounce back. Stand up and step into your victory that God has already ordained for you.
- 8. ASHER - ANOINTING TO PRODUCE ROYAL DELIGHTS
Gen 49:20
Asher's food [supply] shall be rich and fat, and he shall yield and deliver royal delights.
Asher is an anointing to feed royal dainties; it is excellence in production; it is an anointing for books, CD's, TV programmes, music; it is an anointing to feed those in the land; it is an anointing that you can claim and grab a hold of.
As the Father of this household I am in labor to see this manifestation taking place in all of you. I am waiting to see the birthing of books, businesses and even teachings flowing from your life that will become a royal delight to those that will be feasting on them.
- 9. NAPHTALI - DELIVERANCE ANOINTING
Gen 49:21 Naphtali is a hind let loose which yields lovely fawns.
Naphtali is a deliverance anointing; it is a hind let loose; it is a deer that has been caged up but it is an anointing to set that deer free.
This anointing is in this house as well. God has brought you here with one purpose only and that is to bring you in your walk with Him to that place where the fullness of the Christ in you is released and where you step into your destiny and calling.
This is where you will grow to become all that God has called you to be.
- 10. JOSEPH - PROSPERITY IN THE MARKETPLACE
Gen 49:22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a well (spring or fountain), whose branches run over the wall.
Joseph is an end-time anointing for prosperity. Joseph is fruitful, but notice where he prospers. He prospers over the wall. Joseph is an end-time anointing to prosper in the secular market. We have enough Christian businesses marketing Christian people. God is calling us in this season to become a Christian business targeting secular people. You need to learn how to prosper over the wall.
We need some people in this house with a Joseph anointing that will go out and get secular money and bring them into the house of God. God promised us the silver and the gold of the heathen to build His Kingdom. Maybe God is speaking to someone in this house this morning.
- 11. BENJAMIN - PRAYER & WARFARE ANOINTING:
Gen 49:27 Benjamin is a ravenous wolf, in the morning devouring the prey and at night dividing the spoil.
Benjamin is an end-time anointing for warfare. Benjamin is likened as a wolf. In the morning he shall devour the prey and in the evening he shall divide the spoil. If you get up in the morning you devour the prey then in the evening you will count the victories. Your prayer in the evening will then be about all the victories that took place that day. If however you don't conquer and devour the prey in the morning, you will spend your evenings repenting for all the failures of the day because you did not conquer the enemy when you first got up.
In the morning you devour the prey -
- tell the enemy that he has no power over you today and
- come against every power that is trying to hinder you and stand in the authority of Jesus.
When you get to the evening you can say to God thank you for all the victories you had today and thank Him for all the blessings that came your way.
When you don't use the warfare anointing,
- you come to the end of the day and say to God to forgive you for blowing your temper at someone or
- God to forgive you for missing this or
- missing that.
Repentance in the evening is as a result of no warfare in the morning. But warfare in the morning causes me to before I lay down my head to lift up my hands and thank God for the day and the battles won and the relationships made and the good things that came into my life.
This End-time Benjamin anointing is available today for all of us - you don't have to do only one thing at a time or define this church by one flow. There are many flows of the Holy Spirit, sometimes you need the prophetic flow or the business flow or the judgment or the praise flow. All of the anointing has been released into the atmosphere and if we become acquainted with them, understand their function, we are able to reach up and pull down what we need at that moment.
We can liken these to a set of keys. One key does not open every lock and the more keys you have the more locks you can undo.
As a member of this apostolic household I charge you this morning in the name of Jesus to take hold of these keys and apply them in your walk of dominion as a true son of God.
I challenge you to take the time this week to take your notes this week and sit at the feet of the Father. Ask him to give you revelation as to the application of this message to your walk with God.
God bless you.
