Over the past weeks and months I have been challenging many of you with regards to your carnal and inaccurate mindsets. Most of you now have come to a place where you now have the ability to actually discern these mindsets and to actively cast them down.

This morning I want to present to you the JOSIAH MINDSET as the standard to which we as sons of God need to respond to if we are to truly manifest the Church in the City.

2Ch 34:14-25

(14) When they were bringing out the money that was brought into the house of the Lord, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the Lord given by Moses.

(15) Hilkiah told Shaphan the scribe, I have found the Book of the Law in the Lord's house. And [he] gave the book to Shaphan.

(16) Shaphan took the book to King Josiah, but [first] reported to him, All that was committed to your servants they are doing.

(17) They have emptied out the money that was found in the house of the Lord and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers and the workmen.

(18) Then Shaphan the scribe said to the king, Hilkiah the priest has given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

(19) When King Josiah had heard the words of the Law, he rent his clothes.

(20) And the king commanded Hilkiah, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Abdon son of Micah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king, saying,

(21) Go, inquire of the Lord for me and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah about the words of the book that is found. For great is the Lord's wrath that is poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord, to do according to all that is written in this book.

(22) And Hilkiah and they whom the king had appointed went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe. She dwelt in Jerusalem, in the Second Quarter. They spoke to her to that effect.

(23) And she answered them, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Tell the man who sent you to me,

(24) Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will bring evil upon this place and upon its inhabitants, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah.

(25) Because they have forsaken Me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands, therefore My wrath shall be poured out upon this place and shall not be quenched.

JOSIAH - (he will be sustained of Jehovah)

H2977 - BDB Definition: - Josiah = “whom Jehovah heals”

1. JOSIAH WALKED IN THE WAYS OF DAVID. HE CHOSE DAVID AS HIS FATHER (RESOURCE). HE REJECTED THE EVIL LEGACY OF HIS PARENTS.

2 Chr 34:2

He did right in the sight of the Lord and walked in the ways of David his father [forefather] and turned aside neither to the right hand nor to the left.

If we study the life of Josiah you will note that he came from an ancestral line that did not serve God at all. His grandfather was Manasseh whom God called evil.

2Ch 33:1-3

(1) Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.

(2) But he did evil in the Lord's sight, like the abominations of the heathen whom the Lord drove out before the Israelites.

(3) For he built again the [idolatrous] high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared altars for the Baals and made the Asherim and worshiped all the hosts of the heavens and served them.

What to me was significant of the life of Manasseh was that his rule as king consisted of 55 years of which 10 years he co-reigned with his father Hezekiah and 45 years by himself. 45 = 9x5

So again we see the following images and shadows:

10 = Perfection of Divine Order – We see rulership and dominion by Father and Son reflected in this PERFECTION OF DIVINE ORDER

9 = Finality and Judgement

5 = Grace

We see both these elements manifested in the life of Manasseh.

Manasseh was followed by his son Amon:

2Ch 33:20

So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house [garden]. And Amon his son reigned in his stead.

2Ch 33:21

Amon was twenty-two years old when he began his two-year reign in Jerusalem.

TWENTY-TWO - Is the double of eleven, has the significance of that number in an intensified form,—disorganization and disintegration, especially in connection with the Word of God. For the number two is associated with the second person of the Godhead, the living Word.

22 = DISORGANIZATION AND DISINTEGRATION

2 = The WORD

We see then from this clearly that Amon’s life was a life that brought disorganization and disintegration of the Word.

2Ch 33:22

But he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as did Manasseh his father; for Amon sacrificed to all the images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them,

2Ch 33:25

But the people of the land slew all those who had conspired against King Amon, and they made Josiah his son king in his stead.

Josiah knew very well indeed that the life that his forefathers lived were a life of evil. Remember that he grew up in that environment. He made a conscious choice to not follow in the footsteps of his natural father. He made a conscious choice to align himself with David as his father.

He walked away from sentimentality and embraced accuracy in the WORD. He knew what God required from him and responded to the unction of what God stirred in his heart.

God is speaking to us this morning. In the same manner as Josiah had to choose to separate himself from every form of inaccuracy in his life and the way that he was brought up we have to do the same.

Josiah made a conscious decision to align himself to the characteristics that he saw in the life of his ancestor DAVID. He chose to have the same mental attitude that his spiritual father had.

This morning we have to challenge ourselves and ask ourselves the very same question.

Am I still living from the mindset of the inaccurate fathers and relationships that I had or have I truly come to that place where I have aligned myself accurately with a spiritual father. Have I truly abandoned and rejected the evil legacy that I have received from my ancestors. If you tell me yes this morning your life will reflect it.

You will embrace the WORD and make the WORD your priority. You will embrace the resource that God has given to you in this House.

Eph 4:11

(11) And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers.

What are you doing with the resources that God has placed for you in this House? I am not only speaking to you with regards to your set man and set woman but also the gifts in one another.

If we are serious about the mandate that God has given to us as a Household and to make a difference in this city it starts at this place where we embrace the resources that God has given to us in our Set Man and Set Women but also just as much in one another.

2. HE UPROOTED ILLEGITIMATE STURCTURES OF WORSHIP (ALTARS AND IMAGES).

2Ch 34:3-4

(3) For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young [sixteen], he began to seek after and yearn for the God of David his father [forefather]; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherim, and the carved and molten images.

(4) They broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence; the sun-images that were high above them he hewed down; the Asherim and the graven images and the molten images he broke in pieces and made dust of them and strewed it upon the graves of those who sacrificed to them.

Josiah did not tolerate the idols and ensured that they were destroyed in his presence. This speaks of a certain level of involvement and also about his dedication to do this thing. What does these images and illegitimate structures entail in this time for us?

The High Places

This speaks to us with regards to the areas of your mindset that are still a place of Idolatry. This would include every area of Pride, and loftiness. It speaks of your mind and your intellect.

Asherim

Was the Mother God, God of the Earth, and also the Queen of Heaven. I want to refer to this as also being that place where your body still dictates to you. Those are the areas with regards to your mindsets about yourself and your body that you have not yet aligned with the WORD.

Carved Images

These are the areas of Sin and rebellion. This is where we deal ruthlessly with everything that has not yet aligned itself to the WORD of God and to a truly bowed and submissive heart unto God and one another.

Molten Images

False Gods – What is there in your life that you have covenanted with and have not yet truly surrendered unto God. What is their in your life that still take precedence above the instructions and unction of the Holy Spirit in you.

What are those things in your life that you have engaged to the level where a fusion took place? A molten image is an idol that is created through the fusion of different metals and objects. I see this fusion process and ungodly covenants that you have in your life.

Let me name a few that might help you to better understand:

Work

Wife / Kids / Husband

Sport

TV etc

You cut covenant with all of these where you place any of this over and above the demands that God is placing upon your life.

Sun Images

Sun images speak of the Worship of the Sun. The sun presented the male god and the moon the female. In worshipping the Sun we see a picture of the worship of man and humanity. We also see a picture of the False Christ. The False Son

Again the question remains as to what is there in your mindsets where you are still giving way to humanism.

These are the ILLEGITIMATE STURCTURES OF WORSHIP that needs to be pulverized and destroyed in our lifes.

Each one of these illegitimate structures is keeping us from accurate worship with God.

3. JOSIAH DEMONSTRATED A PATTERN OF UPGRADE IN HIS LIFE.

2Ch 34:3

For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young [sixteen], he began to seek after and yearn for the God of David his father [forefather]; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherim, and the carved and molten images.

2Ch 34:8

(8) In the eighteenth year of Josiah's reign, when he had purged the land and the [Lord's] house, he sent Shaphan son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah governor of the city, and Joah son of Joahaz, the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God.

UPGRADE:

§ He sought the Lord – Heart after God

§ Purged Idolatry in Jerusalem and Judah – Dealt with inaccuracies

§ Repaired the House of God – Built the Kingdom

3.1. EIGHT YEAR – HE SOUGHT THE LORD

EIGHT BY ITSELF

It is 7 plus 1. Hence it is the number specially associated with Resurrection and Regeneration, and the beginning of a new era or order.

Jossiah sought the Lord. He himself came to a place where he started to run after God. He developed a passion after God. There was a desire in him to change and to come to the place where he can see and experience God in the same way as what David did. He patterned his heart after the demonstration he saw in the life of David.

Application:

What does your mindset looks like? Do you have the same mindset that Josiah had. His mindset was a searching after God. What is yours? Job security, your children, your finances, your business?

If you truly want to step into dominion you have to meet this requirement. You need to have a heart that is constantly seeking after God.

3.2. 12TH YEAR – PURGED JUDAH AND JERUSALEM OF IDOLATRY.

To me this speaks also of the age of accountability. This is also the time where we see that this young king now took charge of his Kingdom in a serious manner and established his reign. He removed and break down ever high place and altar of worship. What is also significant to me is that the Word clearly states that this took place in his presence. He was personally involved.

In the twelve year of his reign….. Twelve is a perfect number, signifying perfection of government, or of governmental perfection.

This then is the season in which he brought the rule and reign of God into accuracy and also then we can understand also that we see here the perfection of government that number 12 signifies. We see thus that divine order is established in the land.

Application:

What does your mindset looks like? Do you have the same mindset that Josiah had? His mindset was that he aggressively dealt with every form of idolatry in his land. What is yours? Are you serious about dealing with the idols in your life? - For most of us there still is our Job security, our children, our finances, and our business?

What about your soapies and other TV programs? You live your life around these things and not around God.

For some of us it can even be your sleep. When God wakes you, you choose to stay in bed and not to respond to the gentle wisper of your name by the Holy Spirit.

There still is your moods and tantrums that you so much cherish. There is still so much of what I want and what I desire. What about Jesus? What about HIM. I still need to see the burning of your passion after God manifested in this house. There is still so much of a mindset that is crying give me, give me. There is still so much poor little me and my problems.

I challenge you today to get to the place of maturity. Deal with your heart that gets so easily offended. Root out from your heart every portion and offence and grudges. Your grudge can also be an idol in your life. It will continue to fester and grow and poison your whole being.

If you truly want to step into dominion you have to meet this requirement. You need to have a heart that is constantly seeking after the destruction of every idol and thought in you opposing God. You have to deal with the antichrist in you.

3.3. 18TH YEAR – ORDERED THE REPAIR OF THE HOUSE OF GOD

[18 = 10 + 8]

It took Josiah till his eighteenth year of reign before he could order the repair of the house of the Lord. That is a period of six years. If we take a moment at the rebuilding of the temple and the work that was done in Jerusalem by Nehemiah we come to the place where we see:

THE SIX-FOLD OPPOSITION TO THE WORK OF GOD

§ Grief, Sorrow, Heartache

§ Laughter, Scorn and loathing

§ Wrath, indignation, and mocking

§ Fighting and open opposition

§ Conference, Discussions, Talks – No action

§ False friends, Sentimental relationships

When you look at these things that opposed the work of God you have to both look at your personal walk with God but also on the level of a corporate body as well as being a gate in the City.

There was—

  1. Grief, Sorrow, Heartache

Neh 2:10

(10) When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard this, it distressed them exceedingly that a man had come to inquire for and require the good and prosperity of the Israelites.

  1. Laughter, Scorn and loathing

Neh 2:19

(19) But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arab heard of it, they laughed us to scorn and despised us and said, What is this thing you are doing? Will you rebel against the king?

  1. Wrath, indignation, and mocking

Neh 4:1-4

(1) But when Sanballat heard that we were building the wall, he was angry and in a great rage, and he ridiculed the Jews.

(2) And he said before his brethren and the army of Samaria, What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they restore things [at will and by themselves]? Will they [try to bribe their God] with sacrifices? Will they finish up in a day? Will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish, seeing they are burned?

(3) Now Tobiah the Ammonite was near him, and he said, What they build--if a fox climbs upon it, he will break down their stone wall.

(4) [And Nehemiah prayed] Hear, O our God, for we are despised. Turn their taunts upon their own heads, and give them for a prey in a land of their captivity.

  1. Fighting and open opposition

Neh 4:7-8

(7) But when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabians, Ammonites, and Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were going up and that the breaches were being closed, they were very angry.

(8) And they all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem, to injure and cause confusion and failure in it.

  1. Conference, Discussions, Talks – No action

Neh 6:1-2

(1) Now when Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had built the wall and that there was no breach left in it, although at that time I had not set up the doors in the gates,

(2) Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, Come, let us meet together in one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they intended to do me harm.

H207 - 'ônô - BDB Definition: ONO

Ono = “vigorous”

1) city in Benjamin

2) a valley (of craftsman)

This speaks to me of the vigorous valley of working and crafting. This would imply the demands of your secular job where you are constantly challenged and demanded to rather meet your deadlines and deliver the things that the Job require from you than spending time with God and executing the instructions that you have received from him.

Be honest with yourself…. How many times do you rather focus on the demand that you job place on you than responding to the unction of the Holy Spirit?

Neh 6:7

(7) Also you have set up prophets to announce concerning you in Jerusalem, There is a king in Judah. And now this will be reported to the [Persian] king. So, come now and let us take counsel together.

Neh 6:9

(9) For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, Their hands will be so weak that the work will not be done. But now strengthen my hands!

This attempt was to "weaken them from the work" (v 9). But Nehemiah refused to parley with the enemies, or meet them in conference. You have to be wise and discerning. Yes you have to work and also in such a way as to bring glory to God. But you job will also place a demand that will weaken you in your obedience and response to that what God desires from you. If this is the case then you have to make some choices and decisions. You can never place your job above the word of God or your family. That is your first priority.

  1. False friends, Sentimental relationships

Neh 6:10-14

(10) I went into the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabel, who was shut up. He said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you--at night they are coming to kill you.

(11) But I said, Should such a man as I flee? And what man such as I could go into the temple [where only the priests are allowed to go] and yet live? I will not go in.

(12) And behold, I saw that God had not sent him, but he made this prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.

(13) He was hired that I should be made afraid and do as he said and sin, that they might have matter for an evil report with which to taunt and reproach me.

(14) My God, think on Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who would have put me in fear.

Here was the greatest danger of all. Satan, "as an angel of light," seeking to mar, and hinder, and stop the work. Along your journey you will meet many concerned friends and family members telling you that they have a word of God for you that is opposing the very thing that God wants to establish. You must have discernment. Be careful of those sentimental relationships in your life trying to so called help you.

The repair of the House of God took place in the eighteenth year of reign of Josiah as we have already stated earlier.

REPAIR OF THE HOUSE OF GOD = (10) Perfection of divine order PLUS (8) sh’moneh in Hebrew, from the root shah’meyn “to make fat” or “to cover with fat” which means to super-abound

THUS: It is in the repairing of the House of God that we see the manifestation of the Perfection of the Divine order of God in super abundance. That is where we see the manifestation of the GLORY of God upon us.

4. THE REPAIR PROCESS WAS GOING NICELY. MONEY WAS COMING IN. THE MEN WERE FAITHFUL.

2Ch 34:12

The men did the work faithfully. Their overseers were Jahath and Obadiah, Levites of the sons of Merari, and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites. The Levites--all who were skillful with instruments of music--

Jahath = “He will snatch up”

Obadiah = “servant of Jehovah”

Merari = “bitter”

Zechariah = “Jehovah remembers”

Meshullam = “friend”

Kohathites = see Kohath “assembly” – Rebellious people

DURING THE PROCESS OF REPAIR, HILKIAH THE PRIEST FOUND THE

BOOK OF THE LAW.

2Ch 34:14

When they were bringing out the money that was brought into the house of the Lord, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the Lord given by Moses.

Book of the Law of the Lord given by Moses. = Apostolic Doctrine of the Set Man

YOU WILL NOT FIND THE BOOK (Apostolic Doctrine) UNLESS YOU ARE INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS OF REPAIRING GOD’S HOUSE.

REVELATION IS FOR BUILDERS AND REPAIRERS. MANY FOLK HAVE NO REVELATION BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT INVOLVED, THUS THEY OPERATE FROM SOME OTHER BOOK OR EVEN MANY OTHER BOOKS.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR HELPER. HE HELPS WHEN YOU GET INVOLVED IN THE BUILDING PROCESS. HE HELPS YOU WHEN YOU PUT YOUR HANDS TO THE PLOW.

IF YOU WANT REVELATION GET INVOLVED - BUILD GOD’S HOUSE –

BUILD THE PEOPLE THAT GOD HAS GIVEN TO YOU.

TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING:

THE BOOK / APOSTOLIC DOCTRINE / THE WORD

1. HILKIAH FOUND THE BOOK.

2Ch 34:14

When they were bringing out the money that was brought into the house of the Lord, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the Lord given by Moses.

You can find the book, and not be affected by the book. Hilkiah was a priest. He found the manual that described the nature of his work in the temple – He was not affected. I wonder what he was doing in the temple. He was an ignorant priest. He was doing a job, he did not know, because the previous kings perverted the law.

His name means “the portion of Jehovah”.

HE REPERESENTS:

  • A GENERATION OF IGNORANT WORKERS IN THE HOUSE.
  • A GENERATION THAT SEES NO VALUE IN THE BOOK FOR THEMSELVES – BUT ALWAYS SEES VALUE IN IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE.
  • HILKIAH WAS A PASSIONLESS DISTRIBUTOR. - A GENERATION THAT IS SATISFIED WITH A PORTION OF GOD. THEIR COMMITMENT IS MEDIOCRE.

2. SHAPHAN CARRIED THE BOOK

2 Chr 34:16

Shaphan took the book to King Josiah, but [first] reported to him, All that was committed to your servants they are doing.

You can carry the book, and not be affected by the book. You can receive the doctrine and even carry the doctrine to someone else but not be affected by the doctrine.

Shaphan is a good worker. He follows protocol. He is work-centred. You see he did what was expected from him with regards to his duties. He did not know what he was carrying. He then reports the progress of the work and mentions as if in passing that “a book” was found.

How often does this not take place….. You are active in the church. You do what is expected from you but you are not affected by the doctrine…. By the WORD. You still live the life you live. Nothing has changed.

To many folk in the church THE BOOK is A BOOK. For many of us in this house the Apostolic Doctrine is only the Doctrine. As long as you treat the Apostolic Doctrine as just doctrine and not recognizing it as the proceeding Word of God to you nothing will change. Not in you and not in your environment.

SHAPHAN MEANS “ROCK BADGER”

THE BADGER IS AN ANIMAL THAT PLAYS, RUNS, SLEEPS, MATES ON

THE ROCK BUT BUILDS IN THE SAND. IT LIVES IN A NETWORK OF

TUNNELS IN THE SAND. TOO MANY FOLK ENJOY JESUS BUT CAN’T

BUILD IN HIM.

HE REPRESENTS A GENERATION:

  • THAT IS WORK-CENTRED.
  • FOR WHOM THE BOOK IS A BOOK. THERE IS NO SPECIALITY GIVEN TO GOD’S WORD.
  • THAT ENJOYS JESUS BUT CANNOT BUILD IN HIM – THEY HAVE A CONTRADICTING LIFESTYLE – A LIFESTYLE THAT IS SEPERATED INTO TWO DIVISIONS…. CHURCHLIFE AND MY LIFE.

3. SHAPHAN READ THE BOOK

2Ch 34:18

Then Shaphan the scribe said to the king, Hilkiah the priest has given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

He read something that did not affect him. You can read the Word, you can hear the Doctrine but not be affected or changed by it. This is one of the things that frustrates me as the father of this house. You will hear the doctrine and the Words but you do not change your ways and your life. You will have your ears tickled and be excited about the revelation you receive but I still need to see this word rooted and grounded in you to the extent where you become that WORD.

4. KING JOSIAH WAS DEEPLY AFFECTED BY THE BOOK

2Ch 34:18-19

(18) Then Shaphan the scribe said to the king, Hilkiah the priest has given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

(19) When King Josiah had heard the words of the Law, he rent his clothes.

YOU CAN FIND, CARRY AND READ THE BOOK AND STILL BE UNAFFECTED.

JOSIAH WAS DEEPLY AFFECTED.

Job tore his mantle – when his children died.

Paul and Barnabas - when they were worshipped.

A King tore his mantle when he saw famine in Samaria.

Hezekiah – in response to an Assyrian attack.

Reuben – when Joseph was missing.

Joshua in response to the defeat at Ai.

THIS MAN TORE HIS CLOTHES WHEN HE HEARD THE WORD OF GOD.

HE REALISED HE COULD NOT REPAIR GOD’S HOUSE WITHOUT THE

BOOK.

How many of us sitting here today have yet to come to that realization? How many of us tear or flesh our soul dimension when we are confronted by the Word of the Lord. How many of us has truly come to the place where we recognize and realize that this house of the Lord cannot be build and repaired without the BOOK… THE APOSTOLIC DOCTRINE - THE PROCEEDING WORD that God is releasing in this House?

Wherever I go, I meet believers who are not amazed or no longer amazed by the Word. Many friends of mine that showed great promise 10 years ago, are no longer actively involved in ministry. There are many excuses – work pressure, family pressure, economic pressure etc. Believers are so exhausted serving Babylon, that they give God their left-overs.

University graduates, who were prayed for and nurtured in the church, are no longer available to further the Kingdom of God. They now call their careers their calling. Many folk are totally unresponsive to the revelatory exegesis and proceeding word that is being released.

Churches and people that once responded with fervent amen’s or hallelujahs are now silent. Some respond out of tradition and not from the heart. They are now only responding from a religious mindset. They are calling silence a new move of God. The Book no longer moves them.

SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING WE HAVE LOST THE BOOK IN THE TEMPLE.

When I realized this I was really shaken. I asked God, Lord how can this be?

How can we loose the WORD in the TEMPLE?

I was really shaken as I realized that we can have this proceeding word that God is releasing in this season in the Temple, in this Household of Faith and still loose it. We can be in this season and in His Temple and still loose the Book of the Law. – Apostolic Doctrine.

We need a Josiah mentality. He was commended by God for his tender heart.

2Ch 34:27

Because your heart was tender and penitent and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and its inhabitants, and humbled yourself before Me and rent your clothes and wept before Me, I have heard you, says the Lord.

WE CANNOT CONTINUE IN THIS PRESENTSTATE. THERE IS A PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY THAT EACH ONE OF US HAVE AND THAT IS TO TENDERISE OUR HEARTS.

WE HAVE TO COME TO THAT PLACE WHERE WE HAVE THE SAME MINDSET THAT JOSIAH HAD.

2Ch 34:19, 21-33

(19) When King Josiah had heard the words of the Law, he rent his clothes.

He rented his clothes

(21) Go, inquire of the Lord for me and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah about the words of the book that is found. For great is the Lord's wrath that is poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord, to do according to all that is written in this book.

Go, inquire of the Lord

2Ch 34:22-24

(22) And Hilkiah and they whom the king had appointed went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe. She dwelt in Jerusalem, in the Second Quarter. They spoke to her to that effect.

(23) And she answered them, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Tell the man who sent you to me,

(24) Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will bring evil upon this place and upon its inhabitants, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah.

Understand that when you have heard the Word that the Word has already judged you. You can not sit in this assembly week after week and month after month hearing the proceeding word of God and not understand that once this Word is released and you have heard this Word that this Word will judge you.

Some of you are struggling financially, healthwise and in all areas of your life. You need again this morning to clearly understand that if you do not align yourself to the Word of the Lord that that Word will judge you. Some of you with religious mindsets are now freaking out because you think that I am placing a curse on you. No I am not. You bring yourself under the curse, because of your disobedience to the Word of the Lord. Go and read your bible in Deuteronomy 27 and 28. Come to understanding that blessing follows obedience and curse or judgment on disobedience. The word curse in this scripture is the same word that is being used for the judgment of Adam and Eve in Eden.

2Ch 34:27

(27) Because your heart was tender and penitent and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and its inhabitants, and humbled yourself before Me and rent your clothes and wept before Me, I have heard you, says the Lord.

JOSIAH immediately responded in repentance to the WORD of the Lord. He humbled himself and wept.

How many of us respond to the proceeding word that God is releasing to us in this way?

We do not know what it is to have the fear of the Lord upon us.

We see then God blessing Josiah for his obedience and repentant heart.

2Ch 34:28

(28) Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the evil that I will bring upon this place and its inhabitants. So they brought the king word again.

JOSIAH IMPACTED HIS ENVIRONMENT

2Ch 34:29-30

(29) Then King Josiah sent and gathered all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.

(30) And [he] went up into the house of the Lord, as did all the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the priests, the Levites, and all the people, great and small; and he [the king] read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant that was found in the Lord's house.

JOSIAH THEN COVENANTED WITH GOD AND AS A LEADER CAUSED THOSE IN HIS SPHERE OF INFLUENCE TO DO THE SAME

2Ch 34:31-33

(31) Then the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the Lord--to walk after the Lord and to keep His commandments, His testimonies, and His statutes with all his heart and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that are written in this book.

CAME IN AGREEMENT - FELLOWSHIP

(32) And he caused all who were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand in confirmation of it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.

TABLE OF THE LORD / BREAKING OF BREAD

(33) Josiah removed all the [idolatrous] abominations from all the territory that belonged to the Israelites, and made all who were in Israel serve the Lord their God. All his days they did not turn from following the Lord, the God of their fathers.

PRAYERS - DOMINION

THE JOSIAH MINDSET MUST BE THE SUBJECT OF OUR SUPPLICATIONS.

KEYS TO A CHANGED AND RENEWED MINDSET

MNEMONIC = MENTAL

AMPLIFICATION:

How do we renew the mind?

M Meditation

Meditate on the WORD – that is what will determine your success

Jos 1:8

(8) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

E Education

Hos 6 – people die of a lack of vision

Hos 6:3

(3) Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.

Pro 29:18

(18) Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]--blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he. [1 Samuel 3:1; Amos 8:11, 12]

N Neutralisation

Obedience – bring mind into obedience of Christ – deal immediate with the mind

2Co 10:5-6

(5) [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

(6) Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are fully secured and complete.

T Thought Control

A Association

Bad friends – find people you can look up to – repent take you back up

Psa 1:1-6

(1) Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.

(2) But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. [Romans 13:8-10; Galatians 3:1-29; 2 Timothy 3:16]

(3) And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. [Jeremiah 17:7, 8]

(6) For the Lord knows and is fully acquainted with the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly [those living outside God's will] shall perish (end in ruin and come to nought).

L Lowliness of Mind

Made self of no reputation

Eph 4:2

Living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another and making allowances because you love one another.

Phi 2:3

Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves].
