For my seventy-fifth hub, I wanted to do something special. Or at least something to mark the moment. Sure 75 hubs may not be 100 but I'm still excited, and I never did anything special to mark the passage of my 50th hub, save for writing it, so all the more reason to make 75 special.
I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do for this hub. I contemplated maybe writing 75 random facts about Janetta, but I doubted anyone really cared whether or not I get freckles across the bridge of my nose in summer or how I got the scar on my eyebrow.
I considered making a list of 75 hubs/hubbers I think everyone should visit. But I knew I would leave someone out and that, well, that just wouldn't do.
I even tossed around the idea of a 75 greatest movies/songs/hot famous guys hub. But that would be A LOT of work and very hard not to repeat from any of my other hubs. So...
Instead, you're getting this. A hub dedicated to a smile :)
"5 Smiles"
Don't Worry
That's right, I am dedicating this hub to a smile. Because a smile can say more than a thousand words ever could. Because a smile can make us happy and, sometimes, it can even make us cry. A smile can lift us up when we're feeling down and is one of the simplest, sweetest, not to mention cheapest gifts a friend can give. A smile can signal happiness, friendship and even love.
A smile can change someone's life.
My plan for this hub is to remind whoever happens to read it, that we should all take a minute to just...smile. Toss aside the worries, the fears, the anxieties and embrace a happy moment. Even if it may be fleeting.
It's so easy to remind ourselves of what we should've said or what we didn't do, what we can't have. So, if only for a moment, look around you and say...(To quote The Way We Were) "Oh, but look what I've got."

A Few Reasons To Smile:
Smiling uses fewer muscles than frowning.
Smiling releases endorphins which make us feel better.
The ability to smile is innate--we are born with it.
Even faking a smile can make you happier.
A smiling person is judged more pleasant, sociable, attractive and competent.
And, finally...Because laughter really is the best medicine.
Just to make you smile-because there really is nothing lke Carlton dancing :)

While walking on my college campus years ago, I remember this kid walking around with a T-Shirt with the heading: "Smile if you got some last night." Well, I was smiling from ear-to-ear before the kid even showed up. Thanks for sharing and congrats on #75!
