- The X Calibrator 2 is the newest flash tool on the market being used for mustangs. It is the only USB based tool on the market which makes it easy for customer use. You will not need any extra cables to use this device, it simply plugs straight into your cars wiring harness under your steering wheel by the break pedal. It will turn on automatically and you will follow simple on-screen instructions. The Calibrator will come pre-installed with 3 custom tunes. Tunes for 87, 89, and 91-93 octane. It is recommended that you use the 91-93 octane anytime you are making performance modifications to get the maximum results. It takes a total of about 5 Minutes to Flash Tune your car.
- The SCT X Calibrator 2 has both end user adjustment and high speed data logging capability. Using the keypad, you can make changes to your timing, fueling, fuel injector size, and dozens of other parameters. You can also monitor and data log all critical parameters by both connecting the Calibrator to your computer and using the SCT Live Link software, or by using the built-in LCD display.
- Also, because everyone should know what those Check engine lights mean, the Calibrator allows you to read and understand these codes the minute they appear. For those of us who have Mustangs 2005 and above will experience a check engine light when making most Performance mods due to a new computer chip that is extra sensitive in these mustangs. For example simply installing a cold air intake can cause your check engine light to come on and also cause your car to run rich or lean, and as a result a noticeable loss in a lot of power. You do not want to continue to run your engine like this, you will cause a lot of damage. You will need to either put back your stock intake or purchase the Calibrator to erase the old computer chip data and check engine code, and install a new custom tune that will calibrate you mustang correctly with the mod you have made, and will have your car running at its optimum performance.
- It is possible for you to lose your tune if your battery is disconnected for some reason for a good amount of time, maybe for inspection. All you will need to do is plug back in and reinstall the custom tune.
- Once you install a custom tune, you are not locked into it forever. You cars stock tune will be withheld in the Calibrator and you can go back and forth between custom and stock tunes anytime you'd like.

I have this for my 2005 mustang and love it! best upgrade i have so far, i run nitrous so this makes it really easy to switch my computer tune in just a couple of minutes before i race at the track... great post!
