What Is An SEO Article?

Firstly, seo stands for search engine optimised. Secondly, an article is a piece of writing where you write content about your chosen topic.

Now to make an article search engine optimised we need to look at one or two points that makes the article popular on a search engine.

To start with, an article that is search engine optimised is one that has the keyword or keyword phrase in the title of the article. That way when the search engine bot comes and crawls through your article the first thing it sees is the title letting it know what your content is about.

Now that the search engine bot has an idea of what the article is going to be about, it will look through the content of the article looking for those keyword or keyword phrases.

As the search engine bot locates the keywords in the content of the article, it can then tell the search engine indexing bot that your article is about the keyword you have chosen. The search engine bot will then index your article appropriate for the keyword or keyword phrase of your article.

Thats what a search engine optimised article is. It is an article that will tell the search engine that I am about this topic and I want to be listed in the directory under the choosen keyword.

How To Compile An SEO Article

We have discussed the first move in writing an article that is search engine optimised by placing our keyword in the title. The reason this is done is because often the title will form part of the url for that article.

In title keywords are looked upon very favourably by search engines. The reason why is because if there is only one site listed with the keyword in the title, then that site will be returned in the number one position on the search engine as that article will be deemed the most relevant.

So if I was looking for blue pants with egg splashes and there was only one site on the search engine listed with those exact words in the url, then the search engine will say, I have exactly what you want and will present that site in the number one position.

The next step is to have the keyword/s mentioned in the first sentence of your article.

The search engine bot will see the keyword or keyword phrase in the title, then the first sentence and will become increasingly aware what the content is about.

Forget keyword density. That is often referred to as the amount of times the keyword appears as a ratio to the other content.

Sticking with tried and proven methods for search engine optimised articles is keywords in the title, keywords appearing in the first sentence, middle and then last paragraph of your article.

That way, you are not stuffing the article with keywords trying to spam the search engine bot who is smarter than to fall for that old blackhat trick.

Basic Article Writing

That is generally the basics of writing an article that is search engine optimised.

You will find by following these four simple rules in placing your keywords in your articles that the article will perform very well in search engine listings.

More importantly, you do not have to worry about keyword ratios and the like. You can focus generally on the content of your article and how your visitors will read it.

You need to write your articles to keep the visitors interest, provide them with the information they are looking for and to satisy their needs.

By following these basic rules you will, each and everytime target your article to the keyword or keyword phrase of your article and the search engine optimisation will fall in line very naturally without you ever having to try.

Tips To SEO Articles

The only tip I can give you and the only one tip you will ever need and its for more then one reason.

That tip is to write one article targeting one keyword or one keyword phrase. Each article should have the four keywords the same and/or similar to each other in the title, first sentence, middle and last paragraph of your article.

If you want to write an article based upon several keywords or phrases, don't do it.

That is the other reason I was alluding to. If you have more then one keyword or keyword phrase, then just write another article surrounding that keyword or keyword phrase.

The benefit of this will be that you will have more then one article on the internet, you will not confuse the search engine bot and you increase your chances of having a page one article for each keyword or keyword phrase.
