Things Do Get Better With Age:

Longevity is an important part of how search engines view your site. Unfortunately it is much like when you first get out of school and are looking for employment but have no experience. The search engines, and most of the people in your niche market, treat you, as they should, as the "new kid on the block."

The main reason for this is that sites come and go at an astonishing rate. With time, human resources, computer resources and money limited many sites are hesitant about getting involved with a new site, such as linking together. Perseverance is the key if you are looking for both the high rankings and the credibility. Don't let the fact that you are on page 147 at Google be dissuading to you. Using the tips I have mentioned here, plus doing a little further research on your own, such as going to your competitors and seeing what they are doing, going to Website 101  http://www.allinfoabout.com/websitebuilding101/absolutebasics.php to learn more about site building, dropping in on the World Wide Web Consortium http://www.w3.org/ and reading what they are all saying, you will eventually, with a little luck along the way reach the top, but it won't be over night.

K.I.S.S:

Keep it simple stupid has been around for ages as an acronym for page design and ultimately search engine optimization. For some sites it is necessary to present a relatively large and complex right front end page from the beginning.

Most often than not though you can simplify content and keep the layout uncomplicated and easy for your users to follow. If you can do that and limit the number of times a user needs to stop and ask themselves what exactly it is you mean then the faster your traffic flow around your site and the more content they will be exposed to within your system.

So break your site down into small, digestible pieces that users can swallow and you'll find search engine optimization a relatively easy concept to implement.
