Athletes have been shaving their bodies for some time, and more and more ordinary men are removing body hair, either by shaving or some other means. Though does shaving actually make the shaved hair thicker.

It’s a common misconception that shaving will make hair grow back thicker and/or darker. There are a couple of reasons this belief may have stuck around for so long.

Shaving off the taped hair ends results in the remaining hair, or stubble as it grows back feeling sharper. No more follicles magically grow to produce more hair, there is the same amount of hair as before.

Often when people start shaving it is when there hormones are starting to increase hair growth. So if you shave by the time the hair grows back more hair may be growing as a result in a change in hormones, not as a result of the shaving itself.

Hair Removal Methods

Of course there are many other hair removal systems on the market now, try one or another until you find one that fits your needs and your body. These include shaving, waxing, depilatory creams and electrolysis.
