When I left the corporate world 5 years ago, I forgot to fix and continue paying my SSS loan here in the Philippines. So, penalty piled up. Then 2 months ago I decided to check on how much interest fee accumulated because of non payment. My intention here is to settle the SSS loan. When I made an SSS Online Inquiry, I found out SSS Philippines has this condonation program in which they provide additional assistance to all SSS members who have not paid their monthly loan fee. The program will deduct a good percentage to your penalty Fees where in my case I save few thousands of Interest fees.

This Availment of Penalty Condonation Program on Delinquent Short-Term Member Loans extends its program till December 2009. If I were you grab this opportunity so that your SSS Membership wont be affected and after two years since the last payment you can again do a SSS loan.

Let me also mention that Philippine SSS Members need not visit SSS office in your area just make an Inquiry since SSS Online Inquiry is already available. For those members who don’t have Internet access at the comfort of their home you can always visit any Internet shop in your neighborhood. Just visit http://www.sss.gov.ph and click My.SSS menu and register.
