In order to keep yourself as well as the others around you safe and alive, practicing gun safety and handling is crucial and must be exercised at all times.

Learning the rules for safe gun handling is of great importance for every gun owner and for those are planning to own a gun or buy guns for sale online.

Here are the fundamental NRA (National Rifle Authority) rules for safe gun handling:

  • Always keep the gun pointed at a safe direction. This is the very essential rule for gun safety. When is a direction considered safe? A direction is considered safe when the gun is pointed to a direction where it would not be able to cause any injury, harm or damage whenever it would go off. It is always the common sense that points out the safest direction, depending on the situation.

  • Always keep your finger off the trigger until the time you are ready to shoot. Whenever you are holding a gun, rest your finger on the trigger guard or place it on the side of the gun. Do not ever touch the trigger until you are actually ready to shoot.

  • Make sure to always keep the gun unloaded until you are ready to use it. Always engage safety device immediately whenever you pick up or carry a gun. Inspect the gun if it has a magazine and make sure to remove it before opening the action and looking into the chamber(s) which should be clear of ammunition. If you do not know how to open the action or inspect the chamber, it is best to leave the gun alone and get help from someone who knows how to handle a gun.

Exercising safe gun handling will keep you away from significant risk of accidental firing or gun related accidents. Be a responsible gun owner and you will have enjoyable and safe experiences.
