Occupational Health and Safety has traditionally been somewhat of a taboo subject in working environments.  Many people view safety as being a pain or bother.  The attitude of getting the job done at any cost is echoed in production schedules, sales and bottom lines.  At Synergy Advantage Group, nothing could be further from the truth.  We view safety as the most important aspect of any job and believe that nothing within the working environment is worth getting injured or killed for. 

Our goal at Synergy is to ‘change attitudes and improve lives’ through educating all workplace parties.  Safety is integrated into every aspect of our lives and is something people need to be cognisant of.  When people skip proper safe operating procedures because it ‘takes too much time’ or observe individuals working unsafe without stopping them, is when the probability of an accident greatly increases.

 It will take a shift in the way humans think and act for us as a society to reach zero lost time injuries at work.  Education and awareness needs to be integrated into our school systems, so that children can learn hazards of the working environment before they join the working world.  Adults need to continue educating themselves on safe work practices and sharing their education with friends, colleagues and family.  If this does not happen, complacency and ignorance takes over, and injuries will continue to happen on a frequent basis. 

If individuals open their minds to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and safe work standards, the learning curve will increase exponentially and there will be a noticeable difference in the way individuals carry out tasks at work.  Synergy is committed to delivering training courses that ‘pack a powerful punch’.  It is time that health and safety becomes a common topic openly discussed in working environments and at home.  This is why it is important for us to deliver fun, interactive and engaging courses so people understand the importance and relevance of health and safety.  From there the message will continue to create momentum as people spread the word about Occupational Health and Safety.
